Less motivation for work

Hi everyone,

I'm now 23 weeks pregnant. I work 32 hours a week (office job from home). In the last few weeks, I've noticed that I'm becoming less and less motivated. I'd rather spend the whole day looking for/ordering nice things for the baby (room). Or I'd rather take it easy because I'm tired. Before, I was much more eager to learn at work and more collegial. I'm withdrawing more. Sometimes when someone calls me with a question, I don't even feel like helping them. I'm not really interested in any of that right now, which worries me a bit. I was wondering if other pregnant women recognize this?

Love,

I think it makes sense to focus more on the baby right now than on your work. As long as you're still doing your job reasonably well, it's totally fine to not give it 100% for now. Your surroundings will probably understand that you've got other things on your mind right now.

@Sunflower: Another mom here! I'm 13 weeks pregnant with our second little one and have been off work since week 8. I really want to focus fully on my pregnancy and spend some quality time with our daughter.
I love my job, but I just don't have the energy for it right now.
Luckily, I work in healthcare, so I can easily stay home if needed

Oh, it's nice that it's relatable. Stopping work isn't going to happen here but indeed... just don't give 100% effort for now, okay..

Relatable! I was also in the lift with my first, literally and figuratively. No need to feel ashamed, it's just a phase. Give yourself some space to catch your breath. You don't have to play the hero for your boss. Enjoy that extra time with your daughter and the baby. If you feel like you can't cope anymore, have a chat with your midwife about the options.
