My two labors went super smoothly, both in less than an hour. I hope the third one goes just as smoothly. I gave birth in bed, and then the contractions weren't as intense. You feel less pain, I fell asleep, so relaxing
I gave birth to my third in early July, and it went incredibly smoothly. Once my water broke, everything moved so fast. I was at 7 cm when they moved me to the birth pool (on the same corridor). I’d barely sat down in the water when she was already here. It really happened in no time—less than 5 to 10 minutes. The midwives were completely taken aback, and the OB-GYN arrived too late. A shame about the doctor, though, because she really wanted to be there; she’s such a lovely person. But of course, I was just glad to have her out so quickly.
Hi Axelle,
It's indeed hard to say how it will go. My first was a C-section, the second was normal and she was here in 3 hours. Now I'm pregnant with our third and I'm also curious if this one will go as fast as the second, but I get the same answer as you.
Just wait and see, good luck.
With me, it was definitely the case that my second pregnancy went faster, although the midwife said I had given birth very quickly for a first-time mom.
But anyway, during my second pregnancy, I was lying in bed, my husband turned off the TV so we could go to sleep again, when I got a sharp stab in my belly. Then another big painful stab, a contraction, and I said I couldn't lie down anymore. My husband immediately started worrying: "Should I call?" he asked. I said no, I'm getting out of bed, just going to the bathroom. I walked to the bathroom, down the stairs, and got another contraction so intense that I almost fell off the stairs. Suddenly I got a severe back contraction, and then he called the midwife. I screamed out from the pain, especially in my back, strong contractions.
When the midwife arrived and checked how far along I was in dilation, she was shocked: "You're already 8 centers dilated. Quick, to the hospital," she said.
On the way in the car, I felt the baby's head pressing down so hard I had an urge to push. I couldn't hold back anymore; I was afraid I would give birth in the car.
As soon as we arrived at the hospital, I said while lying on the bed, "I need to push now."
"No, ma'am, wait a moment for the other midwife," she said. I said that won't work, she's coming out soon, I have to push.
"You still have to wait a bit," she started again.
We were getting more and more panicked. "I really need to push now," I said again.
Then she said, "Well, let me take a look." When she looked, she said, "Oh, indeed, you're right. You're already 10 centimeters dilated. You can push. But sorry, you were right."
I thought, logically, I knew what I felt.
So yes, the second birth definitely went fast for me. Two pushes and she was out. That was the story of my second birth. Greetings, Madelene.
Hi ladies,
I also had a question.
I'm currently pregnant with my second child and of course I'm very happy and proud.
However, there's only 1.4 years between the birth of the first and second child. Does this short interval have any effect on my delivery?
