Mammorexia

I happened to read an article today in "Ouders van Nu" about 'mammaorexia' – New York women who want to stay extremely thin during pregnancy by eating very little and exercising a lot. Some even let their babies be born at eight months so they don't get too big.
I think it's pure madness and almost grounds for child protective services to step in, if this is how you start your career as a mother...
What do you all think about this new 'trend'?

    Selfish.

Never heard of it. It's good that you're not gaining too much weight, but this sounds really dangerous

It is indeed ridiculous!! Especially having your baby induced too early... which doctor can agree with that?!?
Thankfully, I do know that the female body is set up in such a way that the unborn baby basically doesn't lack anything... except in cases of severe malnutrition of the mother. Well, that won't happen so quickly in New York... But you can definitely cause yourself a lot of damage. Not to mention the recovery after pregnancy...

I think it's really messed up. If you care so little about your unborn baby, please don't get pregnant!

People are so obsessed with looks that they can no longer think clearly. Why do people care so much about what others think?
It's just so selfish, and it shows that these women will be the mothers of a generation that only cares about themselves. Good grief, what a world!
