Hi everyone!
I'm new here on the forum and would like to introduce myself as Gekar (that's my nickname).
Last week I was 6 days late despite taking the pill, which is not supposed to happen, right? So we took a test. The test was negative, and we were disappointed. But since there's been a lot of heavy work at home this spring, we decided to stop taking the pill once this box is finished anyway. There are still about 6 strips left.
I'm 27 now and had always hoped to have my first child before turning 30.
Yesterday I went to the GP to ask some questions about trying to conceive, etc. I needed to check if I was vaccinated against measles, how things stood with toxoplasmosis, etc. These blood tests will be done around December.
Furthermore, I have a congenital heart defect with a defibrillator, and there's a 50% chance of passing the condition on to my child. What do we do with that? This basically means they can only insure a healthy child if we use artificial insemination. Both my partner and I have looked into this, and we're just going to take the risk.
I also only have one ovary due to torsion when I was 14. What about getting pregnant? Will that work out like it does for 'normally healthy' women?
On October 26th I have my first appointment with a new gynecologist. I also just moved, so I had to find a new one there and wanted to meet up beforehand to get to know them.
I've been following you all for a while now, and I hope to share some good news in a few months!
Lots of love!
