Hi, I had another question.
Our girl is now 5 days old and constantly asks for feeding at night.
The hospital said this is normal. That this is because breastfeeding needs to get going.
Only feed on demand.

Now, after a few nights without sleep, I'm starting to doubt.
During the day she sleeps, for example, from 11 am to 4 pm. Then she wakes up, fresh diaper and feeding, and then she can fall asleep again until 7 pm or so, then the same routine until night.
Then it starts. She asks for feeding all night long. I even have to let her lie in my bed with me, because she doesn't want to go back to her crib. During the day she doesn't make a fuss about it.
She also drinks constantly. I always switch breasts when she lets go after a while, so I can still easily give 6 breasts per night.
She always falls asleep and I do too, and then I wake up and get a fright that she's still lying with me.
Putting her in her crib when she's sleeping at night doesn't work. We're not allowed to take her out of it because then she's desperately looking for a nipple and screams everything awake. Feeding soothes her and she also sucks regularly while still hanging on my breast.
Is this normal? Or does this get better after a few days?

It’s totally normal if you’re feeding on demand. The time between feeds will naturally start to stretch out. What you could do is stick to a schedule during the day, feeding every 3-4 hours. So, wake her up for feeds, and after 11 PM, let her come to you on her own until 6 or 7 AM the next morning, then wake her up again every 3-4 hours for feeds. Also, let her nap with the curtains open during the day. This helps her learn the difference between day and night. During the day, don’t be overly quiet, just go about your day. And during night feeds, stay as quiet as possible. By feeding her more during the day, she’ll get fuller faster, which might help her sleep longer at night until she’s hungry again. But keep in mind, you’ll still need to feed her at night during the first few weeks because she just needs it. Especially in the first 4 weeks, don’t let more than 6 hours pass between night feeds.

Your baby is only 5 days old... they have no rhythm at all yet. Don't stress too much about it. The rhythm will come naturally. Try to stay relaxed and, for example, catch up on a few hours of sleep during the day. As for the nibbling... As long as your baby is latching well, your nipples can handle a lot. At first, this isn't entirely comfortable, but after about 2 to 3 weeks, feeding really doesn't hurt anymore!
Stay calm... don't get too worked up. Only calmness can save you! Hahaha

How are things now? My little one is 3 days older than this post from 2018. I had that too. Back then, I swaddled the little one and he slept through. Now he's waking up more often, but that's because he has a cold.
