How exciting, Mrs. S!
I really hope everything turns out fine and that the baby grows well. It must be really hard to be in this uncertainty. So far, I can only relate to the positive part of your story. I also have PCOS. I increased my medication in the second round to 100mg. Got a good ovulation. And a progesterone level in my blood of 73. And as a cherry on top, I got pregnant right away. I'm now 6 weeks along, hopefully. There's an ultrasound on July 19th. Then I can post again about how things are going. Lots of strength! I'm rooting for you.
That's all so frustrating! Keep telling yourself that it can still go any way at all, the heartbeat is there, which is already a big thing, and it's supposed to start beating around 6 weeks anyway..
Plus, it's something so tiny to measure, they can easily 'miss' and that little measurement point can shift half a millimeter to give an incorrect reading.
I had an internal ultrasound at 6+6 weeks with both pregnancies (also PCOS but not with Clomid but with Puregon) and both measurements showed 6+3 weeks, while I was 100% sure of the exact day (even minute) the egg ruptured.. The follow-up scans matched my own calculations much better, even down to the day.
Anyway, congratulations from now on and I'm curious how it turns out. Will you let me know?
Do you have to work this week? Then it'll be Friday soon!
I also had some brown discharge after ultrasounds. But not during my pregnancy. (Since I haven't had an ultrasound yet either.) Strength. And we're hoping for good news on Friday!!
Yes, me too. But it's next Tuesday, July 19th. By Dutch standards, that's quite early, by the way. Normally, you'd go to the midwife between 10 and 12 weeks. But since we were already at the hospital for a scan at over seven weeks due to PCOS, it's really nice!
Thanks for your message, MJB!
Unfortunately, it wasn't good news again .. The baby still had an irregular/slow heartbeat, but.. when they zoomed in, it suddenly started beating more regularly!
Also, it was only 4.8 mm (3 mm last week), so the growth isn't that good either.
The OB-GYN said we really need to prepare ourselves for the possibility that it might not work out; according to her, the chances are very high right now.
I was in tears.. But on the other hand.. The heart is beating! And it's growing!
We're allowed to go back on Monday. This is really exhausting.. I'm not sure if I should still hope or if I should just believe the OB-GYN.. I do feel okay though
So sad that you didn't get any good news again. I can imagine it's really hard to stay hopeful. The gynecologist is a specialist, you'd think. How many weeks are you at now? I read that a baby should be about 1 cm at 7 weeks. Sending lots of strength while you wait. And really hoping for better news on Monday for you both!
I was supposed to be 6 weeks and 5 days (it was adjusted down from the last scan.. I actually thought I might even be further along..!)
The OB-GYN mentioned it should have been 6mm. So it's 1.2mm too small..
We're keeping our hopes up and will go check again tomorrow
You're almost there too, right?! X
Lots of strength, Mrs S.
I read your thread with clenched cheeks... I think it's really tough for you.
I think it's very brave of you to say "At least it works, onward to a healthy baby."
You're absolutely right about that!
Once it works once, it seems to become much easier for your body to get pregnant again.
Stay strong! It will definitely work out
True, it's really nice that you're so positive, Mrs. S.
Not much good news here either. Had an ultrasound this morning at 7 weeks and 3 days. Unfortunately, it doesn't look that great... It's still not half as long as it should be. But there's a very clear heartbeat. Another ultrasound next Friday. So we're anxiously waiting now. ????
