I stopped all the mom stuff way too early... And it's a blessing, because it's super exhausting! I'm always completely drained by the end of the day, and the good weather is just completely draining. Went to the OB on Wednesday and everything is totally fine He can come whenever he wants...

The question marks were actually smileys... something went wrong

Yeah, they always say the last few weeks are the heaviest, and I have to be honest: it’s not exaggerated at all! Everything hurts, and even little man’s movements can sometimes really hurt Sometimes I think... Yes, that’s a contraction, but it’s always a false alarm. Every day I hope he’ll come... But yeah

I'll root for you! My own countdown has started too. I'm trying to work for 4 more full weeks, but if I get too many contractions, I'm afraid I'll throw in the towel sooner.

Let's wait and see! We have no influence on it

Hey Linda! Just back from the OB. After a lot of pleading, crying, and an internal exam, the OB finally agreed, and since there's no spontaneous labor (which I'm hoping for, of course), they're inducing on Sunday evening!

    Whoohoo that's good news! Exciting!

Congratulations on your son. It's so beautiful that your mother got to see him. My condolences for such a big loss.

Fortunately, the birth wasn't too bad for you. I'll see what awaits me naturally... but it'll surely be fine.

Hey Linda! How are you doing with the last few weeks?!

    Hey Shannah,

How's motherhood treating you? Could you post a picture of your little one? I'm really curious

Everything's going well here. I got a medical indication because our son is expected to be above average in size. According to the latest ultrasound, he already weighs a bit more than 3 kg.

Our son has dropped, so right now I'm experiencing more pressure in my vagina and a sore lower back... but I'm just taking it easy and waiting for things to happen.

Honestly, I hope I give birth this week, because my sister is getting married in two weeks, and otherwise I'd miss it. But we'll just see what happens.

    Hey Linda!
I hope your little man shows up sooner too. Being pregnant in this weather is no fun anyway. It's good that he's dropped though, right? Noah only dropped during labor itself. Do you really have contractions or just cramps?

Motherhood is AMAZING, but it's also very exhausting. Yesterday I slept for the first time in a month for more than 4 hours straight. Hoping for another night like that. But no matter how tired you are, when that little guy wakes up and looks at you, you forget all about it!! Sounds cliché... but it's true.

What beautiful photos, what a gorgeous baby!

I can feel right now that all the muscles in my pelvis are being stretched, which is quite painful. I hope he shows up this week... but there's nothing else I can do but wait.

I can imagine that with so little sleep, it's all exhausting too, but I'm happy to put up with it.

Yeah, hey... I've brought a beautiful child into the world! (Well, I do say so myself, haha)!

That fatigue really catches you off guard, you know. At first, I thought, "Oh no, this is going to be tough," but now I sometimes forget to take care of myself.

Noah is sleeping in our room now, so I wake up at every little cry. Today (if I dare to push through), we're going to try putting him in his own room. I'm curious whether I'll sleep better or not.

And, have you decided whether you're going to breastfeed?

That all sounds really painful! What does the OB-GYN say?

I can imagine you put him in his own little room then. Good luck!

I've had it for just 2 days, so I'll wait and see I have a check-up on Friday, so I'll see if I still have it then.

I chose bottle feeding. I just feel better with that.

Enjoy your little family I can't wait either!

Hi Shannah, who knows, maybe you'll check our conversations again. Meanwhile, I've also given birth to a beautiful (if I may say so myself ) son, Thijmen.

He was born on September 28th. In the hospital, they induced labor at 41 weeks and 4 days by breaking my waters and eventually administering oxytocin. My waters broke at 7:30 AM, and Thijmen was born at 8:06 PM. He had pooped in the amniotic fluid, so he had to stay overnight for observation. He's doing really well now. He weighed 3875 grams at birth and was 54 cm long.

We're overjoyed with our little family of three.
