Heyy I'm 15 weeks and 2 days pregnant and I'm on vacation... and I have very swollen feet in the evening, how could that be? Am I already starting to get issues with fluid retention??

Thank you all xxx

I had that too at fifteen weeks on vacation. It's hot, and that doesn't really help!

Yeah, that happens because hormones make your blood vessels relax. Then your blood isn't pumped around as well anymore and it kind of 'stagnates'. After that, fluid gets drawn out of it by your body, which ends up in your feet.

What you can do is occasionally prop your feet up on a cushion. Sleeping with your feet slightly elevated also helps.

    Good luck!

A while ago, it was also really hot for about a week here (Belgium), and bye-bye stretch marks—they were hardly visible anymore. My skin also felt tight, which I found quite unpleasant.
So I’m already dreading the real summer season. Apparently, I do have a tendency to retain moisture.
They recommend staying active (taking regular walks—swimming, which I find absolutely lovely) and indeed, elevating my feet felt so good when my feet were swollen.
A few days later, I no longer had any trouble with the swelling—it had gone down.

    Love

    Hey ladies,
I'm now 22 weeks and have had swollen feet for weeks. So even during this less warm period, I'm still dealing with it. My gynecologist told me I need to wear compression stockings. So when I go back to work, I'll just wear them under jeans. And as clumsy as I find it, I have to say that my tired legs and feet do feel better. And apparently, they also help prevent varicose veins! Not that I have any right now, but it can only work preventively, you know. Keep me in mind for the really hot periods too.
Saloua, I had them so early as well, unfortunately there's not much you can do about it. Elevating your legs and wearing compression stockings are the only tips I can give you.

    Greetings, Fieke
