Feeding
No appetite, but healthier.
Linda
Hi everyone,
I'm 5 weeks pregnant now and I'm already noticing that my pants are getting tight. So I'm getting bigger.
The thing is, before this, I had a very irregular eating pattern. Sometimes I wouldn't eat anything in the morning and then stuff myself with everything I liked in the afternoon. In the evening, I'd have an ice cream after dinner. I was taking in quite a lot of calories.
Now I weigh 77 kg. But for the last week, I've been struggling with nausea and no appetite. So now I'm really eating 3 times a day (I'm trying to stick to a fixed schedule): 2 sandwiches in the morning, 2 in the afternoon, and a hot meal in the evening (meat, fish with vegetables and potatoes), nothing else. I take one tablet a day of Kruvat's "Zwanger Vitaal" supplement with vitamins and folic acid.
But this question keeps haunting me. I'm now eating like a normal person usually does. Except in my situation, I'm eating fewer calories than before I was pregnant. (No half boxes of Dutch licorice, Jodenkoeken, Ligia's, and M&Ms, etc.) No takeout dinners (3 times a week) like Chinese, pizza, or fries. I tried having an ice cream once, but it made me feel sick.
I'm cooking every evening now. And eating normal bread again in the morning and afternoon. And I'm not snacking anymore.
Can this be harmful?
