Hi ladies,

What can a woman's body do... Pff, I just need to get this off my chest..

May 24th was the last time I had bleeding, and since then I haven't taken my pill either.
On June 7-8 I had a little bit of brown discharge, nothing more, nothing less.

A normal cycle lasts about 28 days. Now I'm at day 31 of my cycle, and for the last 3-4 days I've been having a weird stomach. All day long, waves of nausea but no vomiting. Feeling lightheaded, headaches, a lot of urination, very tired (but I get that often too), and mood swings. Also a craving to eat everything, one day I eat a lot, the next day almost nothing.. and for the past two days I've had a feeling like a bladder infection.. burning sensation, pain, a very small streak of blood but it doesn't flow through.. (in the past I've sometimes spent HOURS on the toilet with a bladder infection and cried, but now it's different..)

Normally I could say I'm already 4 days late, but since I haven't been taking my pill, I can't rely on that.. I did a test 3 days ago (2v5) but it was negative!!

How long does it take for your period to come after stopping the pill?

If I don't get my period by Friday, should I try another test??! Pff, at my wit's end. On edge, and you can't talk about this with a guy!

    Dearest Sky,

When you get your period again after stopping the pill, it varies from woman to woman and from cycle to cycle.
For me, it took about 2 months before I got a bit of grip on my cycle, but even then it wasn't easy to predict; I had cycles of 27 and 38 days.

But my dear sister-in-law took 4 months before she got her period at all after the pill, and then had no bleeding for another 3 months.

So we can all tell you about our experiences after stopping the pill, but there's no common thread to be found; you'll just have to be patient. You can always take a test, those 2 for 5 euros are definitely recommended.

Even a small bleed, stomach ache, or whatever can mean anything. I had absolutely no symptoms during the pregnancy, while other women 'know' they're pregnant a few days before the test. This also varies from cycle to cycle and from woman to woman. Although we'll all drive ourselves crazy by looking up every little thing and comparing it with others

Unfortunately, I can only tell you that you'll just have to wait and see....

    Thanks, Toesie.

Thanks for your reply. Indeed, I can't do anything but wait, but that's so frustrating because I don't know where I stand.

I do think it's nothing. I should get my period by Friday at the latest. All these "at the latest" things, normally speaking...
When I was still on the pill and I forgot to take it for 1-2 days, they'd already come through, so I'd be really surprised if they stayed away.
You read all sorts of things on the internet and I drive myself crazy, but if a simple test doesn't show it, at least based on what I'm feeling. Wouldn't you go looking for answers? ????

    Sky,

I understand you... more than you can realize.
I think every woman on this forum understands you because we all have days/weeks/months and some even years to wait until it sticks.

For some it happens right away, for others it takes a bit longer. You just have to realize that you can't force it and you need to be patient. Even if you're pregnant soon, your time will still be full of patience and waiting... waiting for the first ultrasound with a beating little heart, waiting for the end of the first trimester, waiting for the 20-week ultrasound...

My advice, chat in the forums for June or July NOD, it helped me a lot back then to chat with women who were also on the waiting bench, because everyone is going crazy and everyone is tired of waiting... this way you can make it a bit more fun

    Dear toesie,

Thanks for listening to my story! I'll definitely do that.

It really does differ from person to person. I stopped and was indeed in my first month pregnant with my daughter, and now I stopped in May and 27 days later got my period.

Unfortunately, you can't say anything about this in advance.
I have to say I'm taking the Etos "trying to conceive" capsules; they contain a certain substance that helps regulate your menstrual cycle.
Maybe this is indeed one; it also contains other vitamins and folic acid.

And waiting feels so long, doesn't it?
Your body can sometimes play tricks on you. The symptoms of PMS are largely the same as the symptoms of being pregnant.

    Hi everyone,

Just wanted to keep you all updated. I'm now on day 33 without any MS, went to the doctor yesterday and had to give a urine sample because I'm suffering from a bladder infection. The doctor told me that there's a chance I'm pregnant, and if I don't get my period within two weeks, I should take a test!

    So exciting...

    Hi,

How exciting, Sky! Are you going to do a urine test or a blood test?

I stopped the pill myself at the end of April. I haven't had my period yet, but I was never regular on the pill anyway.

Last week I had diarrhea, and for the past few days I've had brown discharge. By the way, I only notice it when wiping. I've also had a bloated stomach for a week now! According to my calendar app, I should get my period this week. But since my cycles aren't normal, I have no idea when things like ovulation or menstruation will happen.

I'll test over the weekend if the red flag hasn't been raised yet!

    Dear Missy,

I'm rooting for you. I'm going to do a test at home on Monday too, then I'll be a bit more than a week late. I do have sore nipples and a lot of white discharge, and I also feel bloated.

    Keep me posted?

    Dear Missy,

I'm hoping for you. I'm also going to do a test at home on Monday because I'll be a bit more than a week late. I do have sore nipples and a lot of white discharge, and I also feel bloated.

    Keep me updated?
  10. Missy #11

Yes, absolutely! And you too, okay ...

This is nerve-wracking! Later we hope it's good news.

Just a quick message, but this website doesn't work very well on my phone
  11. Missy #12

    Dear Sky,

Here's another small update (from a computer)

This morning my brown discharge was more intense. Actually like when my period usually starts.
I'm also a little bit scared that it's going to start now. I have a sore tummy, but it's not bloated anymore.

But well, on the one hand it's nice that I can wear my jeans normally again today.
Mixed feelings, but on the other hand maybe it's better that I have my period first before it's a success.

As promised I'll keep you posted, but I'm a little bit scared that I'll have to go to the next round...

    Have a nice day today
  12. Missy #13

    Hi Sky,

    Isn't it so hot?

The brown discharge is still the same. This morning I saw a little bit of blood when wiping. So I took a test today, but nothing!!! I don't get it! I'm really going crazy with the uncertainty, but well, we'll wait and see. If the period doesn't show up, I'll test this weekend.

But the photos you posted of the test seem to suggest you're pregnant ... You're going to the doctor next week, right? It's been such a long time, ha ha... waiting all this time

    Missy*,

The photos are ovulation tests.. indeed, what a heat is going on. Just did a test but negative... Pff how boring all that uncertainty! Ok keep me updated, I'm rooting for you!

    Greetings

    the sky

I saw that you also did ovulation tests, the photos are from June 18th and your ovulation comes on average about 14 days before your period. So today is 2 weeks later and this should be your NOD. Or hers. The tests from another date?
  15. Missy #16

    Tomorrow,

Oh okay! I've never seen an ovulation test before, but learned something new lol

Too bad your test was negative again. I just took a test, but unfortunately it was negative too.

I wish it would just start! Then at least I'd know where I stand. Same thing yesterday. Brown discharge on time and a very small amount of blood loss. The blood has been there for two days now. Brown discharge for about 1 1/1 week.
Could this be related to stopping the pill?

    How are you doing?
  16. baby94 started this #17

    Cynthia,

The tests are indeed from then. I was supposed to have gotten my period last Friday, which didn't happen, and today I'm already 8 days late. I did have some pretty strong cramps, like they were coming.. but nothing.. just a gurgling tummy. Pff, what a pain!

    Missy,

Oh dear girl.. I don't know myself whether it's implantation or not, but it's driving me crazy! Still nothing here. A gurgling tummy, tired eyes, and sensitive nipples... I'm only going to take a test next Friday, no desire for a negative result because I might be testing too early.... So I'll wait a bit longer!
I'd say, try to control yourself a bit too, anything could still happen, but brown discharge could also mean implantation of the egg..

    Big kiss

    He sky

Your period normally only comes 14 days after ovulation. Have you had a period yet after stopping the pill, or not yet? Because then it's also hard to say how long your cycle is. In theory, if you had a positive ovulation test on June 18th, then July 2nd is only your EXPECTED date, not 8 days ago.
  18. baby94 started this #19

You know, there are women who have a positive ovulation test for the entire cycle...

My last period was on May 25th, so that’s 42 days ago... I stopped taking the pill on May 22nd, had bleeding for three days, and nothing since then...
  19. Cynthia Guest #20

    Hi Sky,

Sometimes it really can take a long time before you get your first real period after stopping the pill. I had my withdrawal bleed on May 26th and got my period again on June 22nd. It’s tough when you don’t know for sure and are so anxious.

    Is this your first pregnancy?
We’re going for a second one now; we already have a 14-month-old daughter.
