Worries about childbirth

Hi everyone.

I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant with our first baby and I'm more than fed up (as I think many women feel)... I can barely walk for a week due to severe stabbing pains in my groin, and since yesterday it even hurts when I sit or lie down... On top of that, I'm worried whether the birth will go smoothly (naturally)... I've had several growth ultrasounds at the hospital and our baby turns out to be very large... Last Wednesday I went to the midwife, and she referred me to the hospital for an ultrasound; the baby is now estimated to weigh over 7 pounds... And to think I might have to wait another 4 weeks!!!
I'm also sleeping poorly (partly due to severe heartburn) and because my belly is gigantic... (people even ask if there's only one in there)
I have to go back to the midwife on Wednesday and I hope they'll want to do something, like induce or strip the membranes or something... but I'm scared... Pfff, I'm really afraid of the birth I never used to be before.... I always had this feeling (even when I was already pregnant) that everyone can give birth, so can I, and I'm also aware that giving birth isn't fun, but that I (everyone) can get through it hihi. But now every time they say he's so big, and the chance of complications is higher than with a smaller baby... I'm starting to really worry.

Anyone here who has experience with this??????

Xxx
