Hi ladies, I had a D&C done yesterday to remove the "blighted ovum." I was also 7.5 weeks along.
I tried using pills to let it pass naturally, but it didn't work out completely. After a full week of bleeding, abdominal pain, and cramps, I was glad the D&C was over and that I'm feeling a bit better again. I already felt from the start of the pregnancy that something was wrong, but I couldn't put my finger on it. It all felt very different from my first pregnancy. This week it became clear to me because of all the bleeding and severe cramps, but since my hormone levels had risen well, I still had good hope. Until Thursday evening...
I find it really hard, but I also realize that this is nature, and since I already have a beautiful son, I can make peace with it.
Hopefully next time will be better.
Wow, that's so sad for you! Strength!! I also had an empty gestational sac at 8 weeks. I had two days of severe contractions. Every time I called the gynecologist's office, they said it was the uterus stretching out. Total nonsense, though. From the start, I felt something wasn't right, especially since this was supposed to be my 4th pregnancy. My pregnancy symptoms were almost gone; I just didn't feel pregnant anymore. But I wasn't allowed to come in for a check-up until I started bleeding. I finally went to the ER at 8 weeks, had blood drawn, and my hCG was still high, so the doctor told me I was worrying for nothing and sent me to an assistant just to reassure me. I got an ultrasound, and my heart was racing—there was no baby. Really terrible, man! That same day, I started bleeding again, so it was definitely a miscarriage.
Jip, after how many months did you get pregnant again?
Roos, wishing you lots of strength in advance! I went through it myself at the end of October. Completely out of the blue, I went to the gynecologist for an ultrasound for the first time and just got dropped... I really had a tough time for a while then...
But now I'm pregnant again! We're expecting our baby on October 21st. I've been home for a few weeks because the doctor noticed some tension on the cervix, but everything is great with the baby itself!
I hope a positive story comes your way soon; this is the easiest way to give it a place.
