chances of IUI treatment

Wipeout
Hi Hope,

I can really relate to this. I had my first IUI 2 days before you, on the 18th, but the first week just flew by. It’s really a matter of waiting it out. Try to do as many fun things as possible and try to talk about something other than kids. Easier said than done, but you can always give it a shot.

I wouldn’t dare say anything about the success rate, because that varies so much for everyone. We’ve been trying naturally for over 2 years now, but we’ve now gone into the IUI process because they don’t know why it’s not happening naturally.

I hope this IUI works out for you!

Best,
Maaike

    Hi Maaike,

Thanks for your reply. Sounds like you're going through a stressful time too, especially since you've been trying for so long. I really hope this time works out for you! I try to distract myself as much as possible, but you can't help but think about it almost all the time. There's a chance a little miracle is growing inside me, though I try to stay realistic to avoid being too disappointed. Having a child has always been my biggest wish, so I do think about it a lot. Sending lots of strength while you wait, and let me know the results. Maybe we'll both be pregnant soon!

    Best, Hope

    Hey Hope,

It's so hard not to think about it Everyone around me knows too, so I get asked regularly how you're feeling, how things are going now... So you still can't easily shut it out

I hope a little minime is growing in your belly!
Did you have IUI on your own cycle or with hormones?

    Greetings,
    Maaike

I had my IUI in my own cycle. I did give myself a Pregnyl injection the day before. I have a very regular cycle. Did you also have your IUI in your own cycle? Are you waiting until you're overdue to test, or are you doing an early pregnancy test? I think I'll test as soon as I can, I'm so curious!

    Greetings

That's so nice that it worked out in your own cycle! I always had a regular cycle, but then at some point mine became very short. Since IUI tends to be more successful when hormones are used, my gynecologist decided to put me on hormones.

I'm really going to wait until June 1st. If I test before then, Pregnyl or Menopur might still be in my blood, which could give a false result.

When are you planning to test?
    Where are you from?

    Warm regards

I'd rather not say where I'm from just yet because it's a small community, and people would immediately know it's me if they read it. I'm happy to share once my surroundings know, but if someone reads this before then, everyone here would know right away. I was also planning to test around June 1st. Since I only had a small amount of Pregnyl injected, it should definitely be out of my system by then. And because the IUI was done 2 days earlier in my cycle than when ovulation would normally occur, it'll still take a while before I get my period—only next Friday. But I really can't wait that long!

Hope; I can imagine you'd rather keep that to yourself

Unfortunately, I've gotten my period, so I have to call the hospital tomorrow, and then we'll move on to the next round!
Wish you all the best while you wait!

Oh, that's really sad for you guys! I really hope it works out soon since you've wanted it for so long. Lots of strength and success!

    Best wishes

Thank you! It will definitely work out, I'm sure! Saturday there's another ultrasound, and then back on the hormones, and things will go super fast... if all goes well, it's a week of hormones and then insemination again... And then two more weeks of patience

    Good luck! Keep me posted?

It's nice that everything can happen so quickly again, but those 2 are taking their time. I did an early test yesterday and it was negative. So I'll just wait a bit longer. I keep getting twinges in my breasts, but it's probably just from the stress or something. Though I'm secretly hoping it is.

Good luck with your 2nd attempt!

Early test negative doesn't mean much... it could be that you still have too few hormones and then you won't see it yet.
Good luck waiting a bit more, I'm already on hormones again, so I can enjoy myself again in the coming week.

When are you going to test again?
  12. Mama van Ilse #13

I tested this morning, but the test wasn't done properly or something because there was no line at all. I'll try again tomorrow. If it's negative, I hope to get my period soon so I can move on quickly.

When is your next IUI approximately?
  14. Wipeout started this #15

Bummer that the test didn't react at all. Tomorrow I'll definitely try again. I started hormones again on Saturday, so I expect to have my insemination next Tuesday or Wednesday.

and hope for some more news?
  16. Mama van Ilse #17

Did a test yesterday too and it was negative. Today I'm 1 day late. I'll probably get my period soon. You're almost due for another IUI. Nice that it's going so quickly for you again, it feels like it's taking forever for me.

Hope; I also found those two weeks of waiting really long... Luckily, my period came earlier, so you might also get through it faster... I hope that if it didn't work out, your period will come quickly! Keep me posted?

Today, 2 days overdue. Did another test this morning and there was a faint second pink line. Very faint, but definitely there. Now waiting until Tuesday so I can buy a new test and if there's a clear line, make an appointment for the ultrasound. I find it quite nerve-wracking because anything could still go wrong. I hope it works out for you this time too! Keep me posted?

Oh, exciting!!! Let Tuesday come quickly!
I'll keep you posted, tomorrow I'm allowed to have another ultrasound, so that's exciting. Hopefully, I can take Pregnyl tomorrow evening
