Wow, I see that this topic has been open for about 3 years based on the date. I've read a lot of replies and am a bit amazed at how many people are left to their own devices. If you're extremely nauseous, can't keep anything down, and even lose weight, this isn't just normal pregnancy nausea. This is called hyperemesis gravidarum, abbreviated HG!

This is something you should definitely take seriously! Have your urine regularly checked for dehydration, and if necessary, they can give you an IV drip. Too little fluid can be harmful in the long term, both for you and the baby. Make sure you get well-informed. Google it; there are plenty of websites about it.

Unfortunately, I'm also part of the 2% who have this. I'm now 16 weeks pregnant and already have two hospital admissions behind me. The nausea here comes and goes, but keep a close eye on it!

Strength and success with it, girls.

I still have it too, 15 weeks tomorrow. At first it was constant nausea, which got better around 12/13 weeks. Then I stopped taking Ondansetron because I thought it was going to pass. Bad move A week of feeling sick again. Now that the first cause is gone (hormones, I think), I'm driven crazy all day by the nausea due to thick mucus in my throat.. leading to vomiting. You think you're over it.. unfortunately not. Hope it passes quickly for you!

    Hi,

I'm 17 weeks pregnant now and just threw up for the first time. The first few weeks I was really nauseous, but I'm someone who rarely vomits, so I only got to the point of retching back then. But from week 10 onwards, the nausea was basically gone.

Until now, out of the blue. I wasn't feeling nauseous at all, actually felt pretty good. I had just drunk some ginger tea (which I don't normally drink, but wanted to try it now), and less than 5 minutes later I suddenly felt very nauseous, had to run to the toilet, and this time it just came out! I was a bit nauseous afterwards, but it seems to be over now.

But I read that Wen recommends ginger tea for nausea. Well, for me it clearly has the opposite effect!

But that just shows, I haven't been nauseous for 7 weeks now, and throughout my whole pregnancy I hadn't been able to vomit until now, suddenly at 17 weeks!

Cola or ginger ale might work for you. That's a bit less intense than ginger tea.

    Hey
I had exactly the same thing. At how many weeks did you no longer have any issues?
    Thank you

    Hi everyone,

All the stories about vomiting are so relatable. From week 5 to 12, I was really nauseous as soon as I got into bed, and then I’d vomit.

Now I’m 15 weeks pregnant and had one really good day with lots of energy. Unfortunately, starting the next day, I’ve been vomiting bile every morning for 5 days in a row, and I’ve been suffering all day long.

I got emeticone and motion sickness tablets, but those only made me feel more nauseous and more tired. I slept all day. I still had Primperan at home, which helped sometimes but not other times. For the bile vomiting, I got a syrup from the pharmacy that works immediately and doesn’t taste bad. It’s Boots’ Maagzuur Suspensie Antagel syrup.

Now I’ve also had the flu and, in the last week, a pretty bad throat flu. Of course, that’s not helping either.

It’s breaking me down, and I’m completely fed up. Good luck, ladies. I hope it really gets better so we can finally start enjoying it.

    Hi,
I'm 13 weeks and 2 days pregnant myself, but I'm also really struggling with nausea. Sometimes even after eating, only bile comes up when I vomit. As soon as I stand up, I feel incredibly nauseous. What helps me is quickly eating a banana. Sometimes it helps for a while, but other times I'm nauseous again after an hour, even if I eat something like a sandwich. It's a shame that pregnancy isn't more enjoyable like this, and hopefully, it'll pass quickly!

Here at 14 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Since week 6, I've been vomiting at least twice a day. It's not just in the morning for me, but all day long. I also struggle to keep dinner down.

I got medication from my GP, but it's not helping enough. Still vomiting daily.

This is my first baby, and I'm noticing it's making me really tired, exhausted, and also sad. I had hoped it would get better, but so far no improvement...
