Period or pregnancy symptoms?

I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend and was supposed to get my period last Friday (I’m usually very on time). I’ve had a feeling for a few days that my period is about to start down there, but it hasn’t come through. I also had quite a bit of mood swings yesterday and the day before, which usually happens the day before my period starts. Since this morning, I’ve felt like my breasts are about to burst. Could this be because my period is still coming, or could I possibly be pregnant? Does anyone recognize this?

If you're pregnant, you can indeed get mood swings and your breasts might grow, but for me, at least, it didn't suddenly happen on day 1 but rather gradually.
It could also be that you're so worried that your body reacts to that and you're tricking yourself a bit. I've heard quite often from my friends who wanted to get pregnant and were so nervous or thought they might be pregnant that they suddenly got their period later. I can imagine that you'd have mood swings then too.
On the other hand, unprotected sex is exactly the way to get pregnant. So I wouldn't rule that out either. Why don't you just buy a test? Then you'll know!

I’m not really stressing, because I just realized yesterday that I was supposed to get my period on Friday, so I don’t have a test on hand right now. I’ll wait until tomorrow, maybe it’ll come after all, and if not, I’ll take a test.
