How did you guys experience your birth in hindsight? Here's my story: 36.1 weeks, woke up at night feeling nauseous and vomiting, went back to bed. An hour later I thought, hey, why does my underwear feel weird? Blood loss and a mucus plug. Okay, so back to bed, but soon after I had to go to the toilet to pee and there was quite a bit of blood. It kept coming, and suddenly I had severe back pain. I didn't trust it, so I called the midwife. She said I was already 2 cm dilated, so I went to the hospital. I stayed there for 3 days due to the bleeding and quite strong contractions. They induced labor, and after 3 days in the hospital, I went home. I could finally relax. For 1.5 weeks I had false labor, and then on May 19th at 37.4 weeks, my water broke at 2 am. Our little man had pooped in the amniotic fluid, so we went to the hospital. I was transferred to the OB-GYN. I could help myself by taking a warm shower, walking around, and getting a massage from my partner since I had back labor pains. At 09:05 I started pushing, and at 09:33 our son was born without any pain relief. Actually, it was quite fast for a first birth. Despite those 3 days in the hospital at week 36, I had a beautiful birth experience. We're definitely going for number 2.

Monday, May 6th (39 weeks and 6 days) I got a tingling arm and couldn't find the words, very scary, couldn't read or say anything. Called the midwife, was told to come right away. My husband came straight home from work. My blood pressure was very high, so straight to the hospital. They did some tests, urine had a slight trace of protein, BP dropped twice, but the third time it was very high again so we had to wait while they discussed it. They decided to induce me since I was due the next day. They placed a balloon right away, and I had to spend the night in the hospital. On Tuesday, May 7th, I was woken up at half past 6. The balloon had done its job and I had 2 to 3 cm dilation. I was allowed to have a nice shower and then was taken to the delivery room. Around half past 9, I was induced. I only had back labor, which was very intense, but my husband was truly a super support!!!! I didn't want an epidural or anything like that, so I did everything on my own strength, and at 15:00 I was allowed to push, and at 16:04 my daughter was born. What a beautiful experience. After the birth, once we had recovered, my husband gave me a very beautiful necklace with a Swarovski heart, very nice! Unfortunately, I couldn't go home right away due to my blood pressure, and on Thursday, May 9th, our little family went home together...
My little girl will already be 3 months old next week, gosh, time flies so fast!

Time is going by way too fast here too, already almost 2.5 months.
What motherhood is, you only truly realize when you become a mother yourself, right?
Is this your first? Just know that in the future, if you ever have more, you'll enjoy pregnancy even more...

Yes, it really goes by fast! Indeed, there's nothing more beautiful than motherhood. When she wakes up in the morning and I come to her, she always gives me such a big smile, so beautiful!

Yes, my first baby, and yours too, your first?

Is the first one already 10.5 weeks old?
Yes, smiling and babbling, so cute!
    You really are in love!

Are you ever going for a second? We would, I think, when our little boy walks in a year's time.

Yes, we're definitely going for a second one when Vivienne is around 2 years old

Haha... had a horror birth 6 years ago... 37 weeks pregnant, Friday morning at 5 am my water broke. Called the midwife, they said to call back when contractions started... they started at half past 5, called again, she came by at 8 to check. 8 am, 1 cm dilated. At 5 pm afternoon, sent to the hospital, still only 1 cm dilated. 7 pm, epidural with oxytocin. At 10 pm, 7 or 8 cm dilated. At 12:30 am, fully dilated. At 1:30 am, our son was born via vacuum extraction.

Now 32 weeks pregnant with the second and really hoping that goes easier...

After this, we’ve had enough. We’re so happy that our oldest son is now 6. He already understands and can do so much on his own, and he’s doing well at school. So now we can give all our attention to the baby

Hang in there a little longer! Our son was also born in the 37th week. I actually wanted him to come earlier...
Enjoy it while it lasts, indeed. People sometimes say you'll miss the pregnancy, well, I do.

You can read my birth story on my blog My story. In total, it took almost 3 days, thanks to a midwife who didn't take me seriously when I called the first time.

I was 39w 5d when my water broke at night.
My mother-in-law had arrived in Belgium that morning (foreign husband). She always said her first grandson would wait for her, and indeed

I went to bed early on Friday, April 5, 2013, my husband went out drinking with friends.
In bed I started crying because I knew this would be my last night as a pregnant woman. I knew he would come.
At 2am my husband came home, at 2:30 my water broke.
I had to get an antibiotic course, so straight to the hospital.
The contractions were a bit slow at first, but suddenly at 8am they kicked into gear. By 11:45 our son was born after 15 minutes of pushing.

Now pregnant with the second, and I'm expecting a more difficult birth. The first went too smoothly to use as an example
