And, how did it go via Skype??? -
D.C.B & G Love♥♥♥♥ #22
With the first one, we had both grandmas sitting next to each other on the couch and let them unwrap the pregnancy test, and now with the second one, we had our little boy tell them that he’s going to be a big brother

Hi! Skype went well. I had written it down on paper, and my boyfriend held it up to the webcam for his parents. They were both reading it, and it was just a few sentences, but his dad said, "Oh, how nice," and then added, "Well, I'm going to go watch football now, haha."
His mom congratulated us right away, and she was there with tears in her eyes.
She said she really wanted to give us a hug, and yes, we wanted that too.
It was a shame that didn't happen.
But later, his dad called out from the other room: "Am I going to be a grandpa now???"
We laughed because he only just realized it now, haha.
He walked back in front of the camera and said to his wife, "Now we're really going to be grandpa and grandma, wow, that's nice
"
We said, "Yes, you'll really become grandpa and grandma if everything goes well."
Then it really hit them, haha.
They were both so happy.
It was a lovely Mother's Day gift, we thought.
Greetings, Marieke -

So we had this awesome idea... found it online. We got the parents together for a photo and instead of saying "say cheese," we told them I was pregnant.
It was just a bit too original. They were quite stunned and didn't believe it. They thought it was a joke and ended up looking like statues in the photo. Totally gobsmacked. Well, the idea was there...

That's really nice, but where do those "pake" and "beppe" come from? I'm now 5 days overdue and have had 3 negative tests. Grr, pff, I'd really like to know something by now. -

Back again!
By the way, has anyone scoured YouTube yet?
There are some nice things there too

Ever since I saw the Pfaffs do it in such a fun, original way at a dinner party, I couldn't wait to do it myself. I also happened to see a lot of videos on YouTube recently. You see a lot of people putting balloons in a box and wrapping them up... a cute idea, but not that original anymore.
I'm not pregnant yet, so I have plenty of time to think it over carefully. There are so many fun things you can do.
What I'm mainly focusing on is how I'm going to do it. Gather all the future grandparents together... or have everyone do it separately... and who do you pick first

I'm not pregnant yet, but I'm so incredibly excited to tell my mom. Her biggest wish is to become a grandma. -
justme #30
Yes, blond, I have the same.
My boyfriend and I haven't been together that long, but we've already talked about it.
We both really want kids. I asked him last week what he'd prefer: finding out at the same time, or me telling him as a surprise.
My mom also knows about my desire for kids. I've been thinking about it for years, and now she's starting to talk more and more about becoming a grandma..
Blond, even though we're not pregnant yet, we can definitely start coming up with some nice things for now

I can really seriously consider it now, since I'm 5 weeks pregnant, how lovely! How many weeks did you tell your parents? -

Can you tell everyone already that you're 7 weeks pregnant, or should you wait a bit longer? -

Hey Blond!!
What fantastic news
Congratulations!
It's much more fun to look around when you're actually pregnant.
I've already got something saved up to tell my boyfriend about when the time comes.
With my first false alarm, I had already bought it.
Now it's well hidden haha.
Everyone around me is having babies again, either pregnant or the little ones are turning 1 already.
I'm super happy for everyone, but somewhere inside I feel a bit sad that it's not happening for me yet.
I do have a job again though, and we're busy looking for a house.
Probably not until next year.
And once we have a house and we're both on the same page (which is 99% likely since my boyfriend talks more and more about becoming a dad :love
then we'll give it a try and hope to get pregnant soon hihi.
We'll have been together for at least a year and be 23/24 years old, so that would be perfect.
I'm really curious how your pregnancy is going, Blond
Keep us updated!!
Kind regards! -

We're probably going to make a photo album with our vacation pictures. We'll stick the ultrasound scan in there.
They'll probably notice it. Hihi -

We gave our parents a frame with a bib that said "you're going to be grandparents." We wrapped it neatly, and when they opened it, the surprise was huge!
We told the rest of the family at a family party. We gave our grandparents an envelope with a few baby socks inside... That way, everyone knew right away "what time it was."
On Facebook, we posted a picture of our dog with the latest ultrasound next to it and the caption "I'm going to be a big sister." -

Hi,
I'm not pregnant yet, but we've been trying for quite a while. Next week we're starting with hormone injections, and hopefully it'll work out soon.. The tricky part is that our parents already know we're trying and know about the hospital visits etc., so once we're pregnant, it's hard to keep it a secret from them for long.. I've also been thinking for ages about a cute way to tell them if it works out... which is also tricky, because my in-laws have already said that if we invite them for dinner, they'll know how far along we are, and if we just give them a little gift, they'll know enough too..
Now I've come up with something else original.. if it works out.. I'll go to the florist after we find out, and have them make a beautiful bouquet for my parents and in-laws, with baby socks and a pregnancy test included, and then a card with a poem saying that we're pregnant..
I hope I can start working on this idea soon.. -

We treated our parents to Bossche Bollen.
We made a hole in the bottom.
We put a pacifier in it with the text "I love oma/opa".
When they started eating the Bossche Bollen, they bit into the pacifier.
Really fun to watch!
And it was a huge success. -

Baking Chinese fortune cookies. (You can find the recipe on Google) Put a wish with personal text in them. For example: "July 2015 you'll become grandma"
Invite the family for a dinner and serve fortune cookies with coffee, each with a personal message for everyone.
That's how I'd definitely do it if I were pregnant! -

Hi!
We had a photo taken of my partner. On that photo, he was wearing a T-shirt that said, "I'M GOING TO BE A DAD."
We slipped that photo among the others and gave the bundle of photos to the family.
Now we're just waiting for them to find the right one!

The reactions were amazing!
