Low blood pressure

Hi everyone, I'm now 37 weeks pregnant with our second baby and have had really low blood pressure for a few weeks. I can't leave the house because I think I'll faint. If I do anything at all, it's too much for me and I see black.

Now I'm really scared about the birth because I think I'll faint. Does anyone have experience with this? Do they give you something then or is that not necessary?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

    Hi Ailisa,

You should find out what's causing your low blood pressure. Then you'll know what you can do.

Oh yeah, you could bring some liquorice with you. I think that often helps!

definitely keep some salty snacks on hand (like cup a soup) etc.

I think your blood pressure might also go up a bit during labor, and you're producing all sorts of hormones that help your body cope with the physical demands of giving birth. You can indeed eat or drink salty things just to be safe.
