scared of pregnancy stretch marks

I want to be well prepared in advance for when the time comes.
I'm really afraid of pregnancy stretch marks.
Does anyone have a tip or a perfect product you can get to help prevent those pregnancy stretch marks?

Unfortunately, there's no miracle cure to prevent stretch marks. What can help is keeping your skin well moisturized, for example with Weleda pregnancy oil. This helps keep your skin elastic, so your tissues are less likely to 'tear' and cause stretch marks. Drinking plenty of water and watching your weight also helps—no crash diets!! But eat healthily and avoid too many sweets so you don't gain too much weight.

But if it does happen, please be proud of it. It's a sign that you're a strong woman and have brought a little one into the world. You can't have a better excuse for stretch marks!

I'm applying cream, but unfortunately, it's not helping. My belly button is already starting to itch. I'm 29 weeks tomorrow. How about you guys?

I used Zweisal belly cream during my last pregnancy. It smells so nice, but I don't think anything really helps against stretch marks. I didn't have any issues with them anyway.

Stretch marks are hard to avoid! I think you also need a bit of a predisposition and it depends on your skin type! I don't believe it's the cream you're using. The only thing you can do is massage your skin well! Just applying cream doesn't help, I think. This keeps the skin supple and helps with blood circulation. I haven't got any stretch marks and didn't have them during my previous pregnancy either, which lasted 42 weeks. I use the cheapest baby oil, and my partner massages my belly with it every evening. Like Iza already said, I'm proud that your beautiful belly carried your baby! Although I can imagine no one is happy about it!

    Love, Lynn

I've had 2 kids and didn't get any stretch marks. I'm so lucky, I just got fuller in the right places. I got nice feminine curves but no belly fat or anything like that, and no stretch marks. Luckily, greetings, Felicia

They always recommended me to use almond oil. I didn't get many stretch marks, just a few on my hips. (I was mainly rubbing it on my belly and breasts, after all).

And can you really say that creams didn't help? Maybe there would have been even more if you hadn't rubbed it on... It doesn't hurt to try, I think, but... I'm all for rubbing it on

Someone I know told me that her gynecologist said you should take a spoonful of olive oil every day because you need to nourish your skin from the inside out. Now, I don't really believe in that, so I just rub my belly, breasts, and bum with oil. I got some oil from Kruidvat, and in the morning after I shower, I apply Bio-Oil (you can also get that at Kruidvat in small bottles; in the Netherlands, they come in large bottles).

I think you're better off just rubbing it on; there's not much more you can do

I'm now 14 weeks pregnant, and my belly and breasts are already starting to itch a bit, so I'm rubbing it on as much as possible.

    Xxx

Nope, unfortunately it didn’t help me either. I started rubbing it on every morning from the beginning, and when I got some stretch marks, I also started applying it at night. My mom got them too, only during labor. I’m at 35 weeks now. I’m currently 38+1 and there are even more now. So you can rub as much as you want, but if it happens, it happens. I’m a bit bothered by it, but my husband doesn’t mind and even says he still finds me beautiful… thank goodness!

I used Mama Belly Cream from Zwitsal every day during my first pregnancy. Not a single stretch mark. My mom never had any either (she had 3 kids). So I think it's partly genetic.
My cousin has a lot of them (2 kids), but she also gained a lot of weight during her pregnancy (I think 30 kg).

Fortunately, I’ve never had any issues with that. I didn’t get any stretch marks with either of my kids, nor did I have a saggy belly. I think it doesn’t always have to be that way—it probably depends on your body type and also your eating habits.
    Greetings, Madelene
