If it comes to that (first time being pregnant), we'll also go to the hospital. It's almost half an hour drive, so I don't want to take that risk. I wonder if it's covered if you live too far from the hospital for quick medical help.
Hopefully, the birth history doesn't say much genetically, because my mom and sister had a hard time.

I hope I can give birth at home. It feels nice to be able to deliver in my own familiar surroundings. Also, the fact that you get your own maternity care assistant and midwife (who you know) by your bedside seems comforting. In the hospital, you get whoever happens to be on duty at that moment. I still have to wait a bit since I'm only 28 weeks along, but I really hope for a home birth

Chantie; my own midwife also supports me in the hospital, as long as I don't need medical care, and also with my own postpartum care . You'll stay home for a while anyway until you have enough dilation to go to the hospital (6 or 7 cm, I think).

I gave birth at home, and I'd love to do it again for my second. It was such a nice birth in my own familiar environment.

I ended up having a medical delivery, so unfortunately, I gave birth in the hospital. I would have preferred to give birth at home. It felt so familiar to me too, kitty.

Medically indicated here too, so I had to give birth in the hospital. In 5 weeks I'll be induced at 37-38 weeks, so back to the hospital again, but that went really well 2 years ago.

I wanted to give birth at the outpatient clinic in the hospital. It felt reassuring knowing that all care could easily be activated if needed.
In the end, I gave birth in the hospital for medical reasons. I had prolonged ruptured membranes at 32 weeks. The labor was intense. After this experience, I would always choose the hospital now.

Changed my mind, first let nature take its course at home. If it stalls somewhere, then to the South. Within 37-40 weeks. After that, I'm afraid he'll get too big.

The first one was born in the hospital... so in the middle of the night when the OB had to come to check the placenta, they had to call her out of bed. The second one was born at home, and I hope that works out for the third one too. By the way, I didn't see any mess; when I got out of the shower, my bed was clean, the washing machine was running, and the baby was already in his own crib.

I was quite impressed by the equipment the midwife had with her; if necessary, she has everything on hand that they have in the hospital room for an outpatient birth. That was reassuring.
