    Good day,

I gave birth 11 months ago and I still haven't gotten my period, and I'm not breastfeeding my son once a day.
    Mom in need....

    Hi,

I gave birth to a boy 5 months ago and got my period for the first time 2 weeks ago.
It lasted 3 days but had very little bleeding.
    Is that normal?
I’m still pumping twice a day.

So none of you are on the pill?
I gave birth 2 months ago and already had my period twice.
I was allowed to start the pill again 3 weeks after giving birth, and I even got my period while taking it.. I’m not breastfeeding though..

I stopped bleeding after the birth at 4 weeks and got my period at 5 weeks. It was really, really heavy!! It lasted 7 days. Now my daughter is 10 weeks old and last week I got my period again and it was just normal this time. I think I'm just regular again. I hope to get my IUD fitted for the next period.

Hi, after I gave birth to my son Pim, it took 7 months before I got my period again. I was still breastfeeding normally at the time! I guess it’s just how your body works. After giving birth to my daughter, it took 8 months.

With the first, I got my period again at 8 weeks, and with the second after 9.5 weeks. I only breastfed for the first 3-4 weeks with both, then switched to formula.

Gave in late July and still not on my period. Stopped the pill 3 weeks ago. It worries me sometimes, but reading this puts me at ease.

Kid 1: 9 months of breastfeeding. Period returned after 7 months.

Kid 2: Already 16 months of breastfeeding. Period returned after 10 months. And in the meantime, 20 weeks pregnant (unexpected. Well )

Hi, my little girl is almost 6 months old and I got a bit of bloody discharge today. Also a bit of pain in my belly, like period cramps. I'll keep an eye on it. Love

    Hi,
It's been almost a year since I gave birth to a beautiful son (08-02-2016), but I still haven't gotten my period and there's no bleeding.
Well, about two months after my delivery, they found out that I still had a piece of placenta in my uterus, so I bled for two months – extremely long, which is why they discovered it.

But now, still no period... Could it be related to the curettage when they removed the placental piece?
I did go to the GP, got some hormone pills, but they didn't help bring on my period. I also had an ultrasound, and everything looked fine in my uterus.

    A desperate mom.

    Okay

Since yesterday, I've gotten my period again. It's been more than a year since the first one, but now it's already after nine months of exclusive breastfeeding.

Lon, if I were you, I'd go see the GP. Without breastfeeding, I think your cycle should return around 8 weeks. Let me know how things go for you?

For me, it took 13 weeks before I got my period again. Even though we had been careful, I was still a bit scared of being pregnant again. I only tried breastfeeding for the first 3 days, but since my daughter didn't figure out how to latch on and lost a lot of weight because of it, we switched to formula. This just shows that every body reacts differently after pregnancy.

@hartje, I had also read somewhere about those 8 weeks, but my GP said that every body is different and that I didn't need to worry yet. She advised waiting to start the pill until my period returned, so I'd know when my body had started getting "normal" hormone levels again. But according to her, there was only reason for concern after half a year.

I gave my almost 21-month-old son (about 20 months) the regular pill. I started it 8 weeks after giving birth, before I’d even had a period. Then, during the pill-free week, I got my period—really heavily the first time, wow! I think that was just due to the pill. Now I’m 15 weeks pregnant.

With the first one, I couldn't give any breastfeeding and got my period again 4 weeks after giving birth. With the second one, I'm already 14 weeks into breastfeeding, it's going well so far but I haven't gotten my period yet. Hope it stays that way for a little longer

My daughter is 5 months old now, and I've been breastfeeding until 4.5 months.

I keep having the feeling that something's about to happen, and there's a lot of mucus discharge, but it's not really progressing.

    Just waiting it out.
