Hi everyone.
Has anyone had experience with giving birth or a C-section with an incomplete breech presentation? Gr, a nervous mom-to-be

Hey there, thank you so much for your kind response.
I'm now 36 weeks, and they tried to turn the baby the day before yesterday.
It was a painful experience, and unfortunately, it didn't work out.
On Monday, I'm going back to the OB-GYN for an ultrasound and a chat about what to do next.
The baby's bottom has already descended quite a bit, and the baby has been in this position for a long time.
I find it really exciting, but I'll let it come to me as it will.
    Thanks again for your response.

    Big hugs,

You were in the same boat here... Here, they also did an external version 2 weeks ago (just like during my 2nd pregnancy), and this time it worked... But I personally didn't choose a breech birth...

I also had an (emergency) C-section for my first one... It really turned out to be much easier than I thought... And my recovery was very smooth, I have to say.

It's a difficult choice... There are always some risks involved everywhere... It's really about doing your own research and listening to your gut feeling?!

Ask the doctor, but honestly, listen to your gyn's advice... That's what they're there for;-) Just have them explain all the risks and what they think in your situation... etc.

Wishing you lots of success with your choice!!

    Hi cin,
Thanks a lot for your reply.
That’s great that the turning worked out for you.

It’s indeed hard to choose, but you can also choose on your own from the gyn.
May I ask why you wouldn’t go for a breech birth?
    Seems really scary to me.

How far along are you in your pregnancy now?

    Hi hi,

Yeah, it's really tough... I know that everything carries a risk, whether it's a breech birth or a C-section...

I find it absolutely terrifying when a breech baby gets stuck or if things don't progress quickly in some way. If that were to happen, I'd be really scared of the consequences for the baby...

And maybe it's also because for me, having had a C-section for the first one already weighs a bit, and I know what that's like :-)

If the turning hadn't worked for me, I'd definitely have had a discussion about how and what, and I'd have been able to choose for myself whether to have a breech birth or not... But I already mentioned in the pre-pregnancy talk that I didn't want that; my feeling about it was just that strong...

But well, there are plenty of people who do have breech births and everything goes super smoothly, really....

    I'm now 38 weeks + 3 days... (3rd vaginal delivery)

I've read up a lot on the leaflets and followed my own feelings when making the choice, and mine was pretty strong, which probably helps... I really didn't hesitate... You shouldn't read horror stories online, by the way... there's often not much positive about them;-)

Hi! My baby was in a breech position, and she tried to turn, but it didn’t work out. I had planned a C-section for April 2nd because I felt the risks for a natural birth were too high. In the end, she came on March 12th, and I gave birth naturally. Since she was small, it went super well and quickly. Follow your heart. What do you want most?

First of all, congratulations! Enjoy it together. Of course, I'd love to experience that too, but it will be tough. Are you required to turn the baby? It's not so healthy for the baby, right? I'm so scared of...

    Thank you.
You're under no obligation, it's your body and baby, so share your fears with your OB-GYN too.
With turning, they keep a close eye on you and your baby, and they won't cross your limits (from my experience). It started hurting me quite a bit (not necessarily, though), and they noticed, and even said themselves, "We'll stop."
I also found a C-section scary, but talk it over with your OB-GYN. If you want a C-section, that's possible if the baby doesn't turn. Recovery from a C-section is much more intense, and I'm glad I gave birth naturally. Wow, all those questions from within and the unknown!

It's exciting, I'm looking forward to it too, but I really want to have a natural birth, hehe. Maybe it'll work out on its own, we'll see. I'm just a bit scared of a C-section, but the baby's health comes first anyway.

A breech position is never nice to hear. I also had a transverse lie in my first pregnancy. This one didn't want to turn during the external cephalic version either. My experience is: listen to the OB/GYN, they know their stuff. I was allowed to give birth naturally and I wanted to try that. At 38+3 my waters broke, after 6 hours of contractions and then 2 pushing stages it was stopped. The baby should have come out with the second push. Then a C-section and I was allowed home after 2.5 days. I still look back on it positively. Everyone is different. Advice: do what you want, but listen to the OB/GYN who has the most expertise. Let them see what's best for you and your baby at that moment.....

I'm lucky now that I'm 37 weeks pregnant and the baby is in a good position, so very likely a normal birth, except now I have to give birth in the hospital.... sigh.....

    Good luck....

    Hi!
I really wanted to share my experience because I’ve benefited so much from others’ experiences. I’m 35 weeks and 6 days pregnant, and my baby was in a breech position, but had started to engage since week 31 (I had contractions then and had to rest). I was really nervous because I really didn’t want a C-section.
They offered me the external cephalic version option, and despite being scared, I tried it yesterday and it worked!
I can’t say it was comfortable or painless, but I’m so happy I did it.
They check you and the baby so thoroughly, and today they checked again and yes, he’s now head-down in the pelvis.
I’d definitely do it again if I had to!
