First day after my missed period. Did two tests in the morning and both showed a faint line; my husband didn't believe it at first, hehe. He went with me to get a Clearblue test, and it clearly said pregnant! We were both in shock, since we've only been trying for two months. Never expected it to happen so soon, especially since I have Crohn's disease. I've already scheduled an appointment with my internist. Is it wise to call the midwife already? According to their count, I'm already four weeks pregnant. But obviously, if you count from conception, I'm only two weeks pregnant.
I'm still in total shock because I just found out I'm pregnant. I took a test this afternoon because I had sore breasts and was late. A few weeks ago I had a course of antibiotics for an ear infection, and that's probably when it happened since I was on the pill and it might not have been that reliable at the time. I'm 21 and have always wanted to have a baby early, but I'd also convinced myself that I probably wouldn't get pregnant—it's silly, but I'd told myself for years that many of my aunts were infertile, so I assumed the same for me. I'm absolutely thrilled and now looking for a place of my own. It's all very exciting, and I'll call the midwife tomorrow. First, I'm going to tell my boyfriend. We've been together for 2.5 years and it's going really well. He'd rather wait a bit longer with kids until he finishes his HBO degree, which is another 1.5 years away, so it's not too bad. I'm really curious if you have any tips for a young mom...
