Hi everyone!

After this heeeeeeeeeeelong 2 weeks, I took the test this morning and we're pregnant! I didn't expect to get pregnant on the first try, but that's exactly what happened.

So today I'm 15 days pregnant, and I really want to know when I should go to the GP and when to see the midwife.

Greetings,

Toetie

    Hi!

    Congratulations!!
I found out after 5 weeks too, on the very first try. I didn't go to the GP; I called the midwife right away. She already mentioned that going to the GP isn't strictly necessary. I made an appointment for 8 weeks of pregnancy. I went there and had the first ultrasound, saw a beating heart, and it was absolutely wonderful!! So if I were you, I'd just call a midwife practice near you and make an appointment.

    Love,

    Angelique

    @Angelique,

I live in Spain and here they usually go to the HA first. If I understand correctly, I should at least visit the midwife around 8 weeks.

I think my due date is September 26th if everything goes well. When is your due date?

    Kind regards,

    Toetie

@Toetie, congratulations! I'm due one day after you, funny, isn't it!
I always call the midwife (3rd pregnancy), they're glad to know in case there's any issue with my health. They can also refer you/advice on which midwife to choose for a first time. Maybe it's different in Spain though, I don't know. In previous pregnancies, I called the midwife and then the hospital almost immediately.

I hope the discomforts aren't too bad for you.

    Enjoy your pregnancy!

    Greetings, An

    @ aap-noot-mies,

Thanks for the reply, it's all becoming so real now.

I did a bit of searching online and indeed, first the ha and then vk.

Fortunately, I don't have many complaints, yes, a lot of gas, but I think that's more annoying for the people around me than for me, haha Occasionally I have a sort of nauseous feeling but haven't vomited yet, and hopefully, that won't happen either.

Do you have many complaints already?

    Greetings,

    Toetie

    Hi Toetie,

Oh, I didn't know you lived in Spain! Yes, I did let my GP know, just in case something comes up, so they know you're pregnant. Here with my midwife, I had to come in at 8 weeks for an ultrasound, and they ask a lot of questions. My due date is July 1st, so tomorrow I'll be 17 weeks pregnant. I haven't had any issues anywhere, and still don't! Lucky me, haha.

    Love,

    Angelique

    Hi Toetie,

Fortunately, I haven't had any symptoms yet. Just some rumbling in my belly/intestines, tiredness at the end of the day, and a bloated/heavy feeling in my lower abdomen. If it stays like this, I'll sign up for it!

On February 19th I have my first ultrasound, so I'll be at 8 weeks again, which is exciting!!

    Best, An

I didn't have to go to the GP either, but I did let them know.
I live next to the GP practice, so the assistant asked me to drop by briefly for the VK folders in the area.
Next Monday is the first appointment. If all goes well, I'll be exactly 7 weeks pregnant today.

Hi ladies! I'd like to join this little club too!!!! Congratulations to you all on your pregnancies! I'm Sarah, 22 years old, and have been with my boyfriend for 5.5 years and we've been living together for almost 2 years now. I'm very early on but definitely fully pregnant.!!!Yay!!!! We just can't believe it. Keep doing the tests to get that confirmation. After three rounds of disappointment, you get used to a no!!!!
    And now...
I'm 5 weeks pregnant and have an appointment with the midwife in 2 weeks. I find it really scary because I'm very afraid something might go wrong.
Does any of you also have those fears from ignorance??

    Love, Sarah

    @Sarah,

    Congratulations, girl!

I think that's totally normal. I don't really have fears, more like wondering if this is due to the pregnancy and if it's normal. Even though I'm over the moon happy, I try not to focus too much on the pregnancy because I'd like to feel something and (I think) that's not possible yet. I'm going to the HA on Friday and then make an appointment for the ultrasound.

    Greetings

The waiting is the most annoying part, and it'll be like that for a while. First you wait for a positive test, then your first ultrasound, then the "safe" zone at 12 weeks, then the 20-week ultrasound, etc. It's all part of it It's totally fine to feel a bit anxious; it's all so exciting and special! Enjoy your pregnancy! I can suddenly get a big smile on my face when the realization hits again that I'm pregnant

    Hello ladies!

I don't know how old these posts are, but congratulations to you all! My question is for you because my partner and I would like to get pregnant... How quickly did it happen for you all?

    Best wishes!
  12. SanneB #13

    Hi Isabelle!

It went pretty quickly for us. I stopped the pill in May, ovulated at the end of June, and have been pregnant ever since. Two of my friends recently got pregnant in their second and third cycle, but I also have friends who tried for longer. One tried for almost a year and a half because her uterine lining wasn't thick enough for an egg to implant, and she had issues with the pills prescribed for that. The other friend had extremely irregular cycles and sometimes didn't get her period for several months. Thanks to a hormone treatment, she's now 11 weeks!

It went super fast for us! I got sick once, which probably made me miss my pill, and a few weeks later I found out I was pregnant. I'm now 14 weeks.

(Just for info: even though it wasn't planned, I'm really happy about it!)
  14. Isabelle Guest #15

Thanks for your replies, ladies! Did you also use ovulation tests, or did it just happen naturally?

    Greetings!
  15. SanneB #16

    Hi Isabelle!

No, no ovulation tests. We wanted to get pregnant, but with the mindset of 'we'll stop the pill and see what happens'.
From experience, we thought that if we tried too hard and focused too much on it, it usually wouldn't go so smoothly.
I did have an app on my phone that showed my fertile days, but we didn't really pay attention to it.
I actually ovulated the weekend he wasn't home, so it was probably from the day before. ;-)
Just have sex a few times during the period around days 12-16 after the first day of your period, and then you've done everything you could. ;-)
  16. Isabelle Guest #17

Phew, we've only been at this for a month but for me it feels like it's taking too long already hahaha! Crazy, right? I need to be a bit more patient too! Do you feel different when you're pregnant but haven't confirmed it with a pregnancy test yet?

    X
  17. SanneB #18

That's not weird at all. In the end, you start doing it to see results
Patience is the hardest part; I was able to let go much more in the second month.
I didn't feel any different. Well, whatever felt different, I tried to find a logical explanation for it.
Tired? Probably not enough sleep. Going to the toilet so much? Oh well, it's warm and you drink more.
Looking back, those were the first symptoms.
Now that I know, I do feel different.
  18. Leonora Guest #19

    Yeah, today a positive test
  19. Mil Guest #20

Yesss, took two tests today and they're positive. Just stopped the pill a month ago and already hit. So exciting!!!
