Hey dear Sandra and Pioenroos, thanks for your interest. No, the bleeding didn't continue. It was mainly on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning there was a little bit of discharge. The GP was much more optimistic than the midwife. He also said that if something was wrong, my hCG would drop like crazy, so it makes sense to do a pregnancy test. So I did. And I'm still very much pregnant, by the way. By the way, I don't really believe his story about hCG dropping that quickly; does anyone here have experience with that?

I'm really glad I can go to the hospital for Christmas!

Hi Connection, I had a miscarriage at the end of 2010/2011. My hCG didn’t drop; it was on the higher side, but my gynecologist suspected it might be a molar pregnancy. The embryo had stopped growing after 6 weeks. I had a lot of cysts in my uterus, which they couldn’t figure out, so they told me not to get pregnant for a year. You’re right about one thing: if you’d had a miscarriage, your hCG wouldn’t drop that quickly, but it also wouldn’t rise. If you have rising hCG levels in your blood, that’s definitely hopeful.

Hi mom-ok, my blood hasn't been drawn yet, so I don't know if the hCG is rising. I don't place much value on positive pregnancy tests myself. I'll have to wait until Monday.
