Divorcing with two young boys

Hi everyone,

Since I'm so unsure about the situation myself, I'm curious to hear what others think.

I'm married and have two kids under 2. After our first baby was born, things suddenly went downhill between me and my partner of 9 years (who is also my first relationship).

I got the feeling he couldn't adjust to his new lifestyle and the responsibilities and extra worries that come with kids.

Unexpectedly, I got pregnant again after a short while. I'm over the moon with both my little treasures!

But the arguments and the relationship didn't improve because of this. Because of all the stress, I even ended up in a depression, so working is just not an option anymore.

My husband wants nothing more than to divorce, but I find it hard/scary "the idea of standing alone". Even though I was already taking care of the kids most of the time.

It feels like he was just waiting until he was more stable with his job (before that, I was the main earner).

Despite the arguments and all the nasty things I have to hear, I'm still crazy about him. At least, that's how it feels. I'm not sure anymore.

What do you guys think?

What a difficult situation you're in. I find the comment "my husband wants nothing more than to divorce" pretty harsh. If he really doesn't want to be together anymore, isn't the situation then just unbearable? You don't benefit either from being with someone who doesn't treat you the way you should be treated. A home should be safe and loving, especially for those little kids. They feel this misery too. Can't you two take some space from each other first or seek help?

This question is really complex. A new relationship is a huge adjustment, especially with young kids. If your partner really wants to divorce, then the discussion about who should adjust might be outdated. How are you guys looking at the daily arrangement with the boys now? That seems like the most urgent point to me.
