Unfortunately, I have to do this alone. I got pregnant unexpectedly. The week I had decided to leave my boyfriend, I found out I was pregnant. I gave him another chance, but soon it became clear that he wasn't taking responsibility. Panic set in for a moment—how am I going to manage all of this? Being a mom, working, etc. But soon I started getting used to the idea, and now I'm really looking forward to it. Everything will work out fine.

Hi.
I'm kind of pregnant on my own too, my boyfriend lives abroad (Macedonia).
It's a pity he can't be there with me during this difficult yet wonderful time.

Hi everyone!
I'm 20 years old and now 14 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I'm also going through this alone because my ex isn't taking any responsibility at all.
I'm still a student and living at home, and I don't have many people who support me. But I do have a wonderful mother who supports me through thick and thin, and I hope I'll still be able to enjoy my pregnancy in the end.
Best wishes -

It seems like it would be really tough to do it all on your own. During my pregnancy, I was so glad my boyfriend took things off my plate when I was tired. Although nowadays it’s pretty normal to do it solo. In fact, if you register your baby at the town hall, the child automatically gets the mother’s last name unless you specifically request the father’s name. Anyway, I live with my partner, and we’ve worked hard on this foundation over the years (stable relationship, financial security, nice house in a quiet village). My boyfriend is very helpful—he walks the dogs, cooks, and picks up groceries I need. But sometimes there are moments when I think, “Hmm, it would be a lot easier if I were on my own” hihi. For example, it took a long time to find a name we both liked. Our baby is a few weeks old, and now we’re already having little debates about when he’ll move to his own room. My boyfriend thinks he should have a pacifier when he cries “unnecessarily,” but I’ve read again that pacifiers should be avoided during breastfeeding for various reasons. He thinks I should go back to working part-time right after my maternity leave, but I don’t want our baby to go to daycare at 10 weeks old because all our close family members work weekdays, so they can’t help. I’m thinking, “I have savings, I’ll live frugally for a while, at least until he’s at least 1 year old, and it’ll be worth it once he starts daycare,” while my boyfriend thinks it’s important for my social side that I spend a few days away from home, regardless of whether some stranger is soothing my baby all day grrrr. These kinds of discussions and “differences of opinion” are really annoying, I think. -

It's true that if you send your child to daycare after a year and they're used to always being with their mom, they might become overly attached and it'll be harder to drop them off.
Of course, everything has its pros and cons.
Our first daughter went at 3.5 months, and the second one will go in 3 weeks when she's 16 weeks old.
The advantage now is that our oldest goes happily and isn't overly attached.
You do need to choose a daycare where you feel comfortable and trust the caregivers. Personally, I don't like the idea of a nanny because I hear such awful stories. At our daycare, there are always two caregivers on the group, sharing a changing room and kitchen with another group, so there are four caregivers who can keep an eye on everything. I don't feel comfortable with a nanny being alone with my child without another adult around. -

Hey,
Pff I'm going through an emotional rollercoaster! On October 1st I got married. Unfortunately, our relationship has already fallen apart! I'm currently staying at a friend's place for about 3 weeks! I'm having a really hard time with the breakup! Because he was the man of my dreams!
After my period didn't show up, I found out I'm pregnant again! I've wanted a baby for a long time so I'm happy about it in a way, but it's just not the right moment! Now I have moments where I completely panic! I'm terribly afraid that if I tell my husband, he'll fight it and I'll have to give up my child when they're older (co-parenting). I don't want to tell him, but on the other hand I do!
I'm having a really hard time with this and don't know what to do!
