Tips for a planned C-section

Good morning everyone,
In about 5 or 6 weeks, a planned C-section is scheduled. We're expecting our second child, but it'll be my first C-section.
Now I'm looking for tips—do you have any? What should I really do or buy, for example, underwear, clothes, etc.? Or did you benefit from something specific to recover well and quickly? I'd love to hear your advice. Better to be too well prepared than not. ;-)

I’ve had 2 C-sections, one emergency and one planned.
The first 2 days after the C-section I wore a loose pajama, the following days I wore those extra loose pants because it’s quite hard to bend down to put on regular pants haha.
Underwear: in Belgium you stay 5 days in the hospital after the operation. They give you that kind of 'net' underwear if you want. I used those because they are extra loose so no pressure on the wound (and you wear large sanitary pads those first days because you lose a lot of blood, same as with a normal delivery)
Especially don't be afraid to take a lot of painkillers the first days! It's better to take an extra painkiller and try to walk around a bit the day after your delivery instead of less pain relief and staying in bed. Attention: make sure there is someone nearby because due to the operation your blood pressure can sometimes be low and you might faint the first times you stand up.
Also the first time in the shower, make sure someone stays nearby and definitely leave your door open.
The first days there is a plaster on the wound. Once it comes off, after washing (and showering) make sure to dry it well. The first time I didn't dare to rub it so well and I got a fungal infection (which by the way is quite common because the cut is in a skin fold). That wound can definitely handle some rubbing so you can just rub it with the towel after a few days.

I don't know what else to say, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

    Hi!! How exciting!

I had an emergency C-section, but I loved those hospital pants they have!!! After the C-section, because you don't want underwear on the incision.

Besides, you'll probably think in the first few days that it'll never get better, but really, after a few days, it'll get better quickly!

    Good luck!
