IUI

Hi ladies,

I've been trying to get pregnant for a year now but unfortunately it's not working. I'm currently under the care of a doctor and the hospital. I've been taking medication for over 6 months now, including folic acid and other pills, but no result yet. Today I went to the doctor, she did an ultrasound, and now I'm starting IUI. They had already done tests for me and my husband beforehand. My egg count was a bit low and my husband's sperm count was also a bit low.

Now my question to you all: I got an injection in my belly today and I still need to get another one next Friday, and have an ultrasound on Saturday. I'm 27 years old myself. What's your experience with IUI at this age? Has anyone gotten pregnant in one go? My husband is 33.

Thanks, AN

There are special groups here on the forum where women are also trying to get pregnant at the hospital. Maybe you could look them up and share your story there? I think they'd be happy to share their experiences with you.

Hi An, I'm 27 myself and my husband is 31. Everything was fine with me, but my husband's sperm quality and count weren't good, so we recently started IUI as well. We're now on our 2nd IUI cycle and hope to have a positive test in about 1.5 weeks. I also had to do injections with Gonal-F and Ovitrelle, and you?

    Hi An,

We're starting our fourth IUI this week. This time without Clomid, but with a Pregnyl injection two days before the insemination. My husband's sperm is fine, and a few weeks ago they found some light in me. We're both 29.

Hope it works out for you from the first try! Anything is possible. Good luck!

    Hi An.

We're a bit older (36) but haven't found a specific reason why we've been trying for over 2 years without success. We've started our 3rd IUI, this time with Clomid, because Menopur gave too unpleasant side effects.

We do have a son who's 3, but we'd love to have a little brother or sister for him.

You're welcome to chat along in the cozy MMM group part 7. Several women are doing IUI there, and a few are in the IVF track.
