Prolapse

Gave 10 days ago and suddenly felt a blockage in my vagina. It's a round bulge/protrusion on the inside. I can move it. I was so scared! I'm worried about a posterior wall prolapse and think I felt my rectum. Bowel movements are difficult right now.. but otherwise no discomfort and didn't see this coming.

I'm really scared about what's coming.. How do I get rid of it.. will it go away on its own? Should I go to the GP immediately with this?

Anyone else had this??

    Hey,
I’d mention it at the next check-up with the midwife, or if you’re really worried, give them a call to ask. I think you’re allowed to do pelvic floor exercises already, and they should really do as many as possible—up to six months, I think that’s when most improvement happens, if I remember correctly. After my first birth, I also had a slight prolapse, but more of a front wall prolapse, I think. Anyway, not nice, and I’m upset because I’m quite young. I’m also curious how I’ll come out of my second birth. I’ll ask for some tips. I didn’t have any trouble with bowel movements, etc., so if it’s really bothering you, contact the midwife. What I’ve always noticed is that when I stand for longer periods, I feel my pelvic floor start to “complain.” It was somewhat limiting for me, though. The midwife can probably help you better right now (with advice) than the GP.

I'd call the midwife. Better to let them know so they can intervene if necessary or give you some tips. Are you experiencing any discomfort otherwise? And what exactly are you noticing with a prolapse of your anterior wall, Anne?

Well, it's more that I feel it and notice the frequency of having to pee. I get a tired feeling in my pelvic floor when I stand for a bit longer, for example. My pelvic floor is quite weak even outside of pregnancy. I hope it doesn't get worse after giving birth.
