Pregnant and on the pill?

BiaGuest ·
Hi everyone,

I've been on the pill for 3 months and take it every day, though sometimes I take it a bit later.
I had my period during the placebo week, but it was short and light.
I took a test yesterday and it was negative.
This morning I woke up feeling really nauseous and threw up, and I've been sick again now. I feel really awful...
I took another test and it's very faintly positive.
Can I be pregnant and only test positive after the placebo week???

The line doesn't just appear out of nowhere... I'd test again in 2 days.

    No, that's correct.
But I'm wondering if I should keep taking the pill.. I've been on the new pack since Monday and if I'm really pregnant, it doesn't seem right to keep taking it.
I'm so confused. We weren't really thinking about it at all since we already have a little one who's 6 months old.
    I'm in shock right now.

Just to be safe, I'd stop taking the pill and use a condom for now. I can imagine you're in shock! Hopefully, you'll get some clarity soon about what's going on. Maybe give your GP a call?

Yeah, I went to the GP to get my blood drawn. I won’t get the results until Friday, but I’m doing another test tomorrow anyway and I’ve stopped the pill just in case.
On the one hand, I hope it’s nothing, since I haven’t exactly been living healthily and I did drink as well. But on the other hand, the baby would be very welcome after all, if it’s healthy.

If it's not healthy, is it not welcome?

    Does that matter, Anoniem??????

Good luck with the wait, Bia!

Anonymous is probably just Jans again, attacking all these women and being difficult in other topics whenever it comes to a disabled child.

    Thank you so much, Kruimel

    Hi there!

If you're just barely pregnant, alcohol or smoking isn't that big of a deal! Don't stress too much about it. Let's put it this way: in the past, you only knew you were pregnant when you were a few weeks late, and no one stopped everything before that. You only get a blood connection with the baby at around 6-7 weeks. I hope you get some clarity soon! I completely understand that you're hoping for a healthy pregnancy if you are pregnant. Everyone does!

Do you have a photo of the test?

I was startled by that comment, it sounds so weird. Or maybe I'm taking it too literally. Of course, everyone hopes for a healthy baby. I've never hoped/wished for it to be healthy. I hoped/wished that it could and may lead a worthy life.

It's not entirely true that drinking alcohol before 6 weeks won't harm. Unfortunately, it can.

It's probably until 4 weeks, since the test is very light. Then the chance is even smaller.

Thanks for the info, Floydi. I just hope it won't do any harm, because if I really am pregnant, I feel really guilty, even though this would be completely unexpected.

What causes me the most doubt is the fact that I vomited. I never throw up, not even with the worst hangover, and not even once during my previous pregnancy. Besides that, I had no other symptoms except severe nausea and vomiting. After that, I felt great all day long.

I'll add a photo. The top one is unedited and the bottom one is edited. In real life, you can see the line a bit better. I didn't have very concentrated urine since I went to sleep at 1 o'clock, still had to pee, and took the test at half past 5.

Anonymous. It might seem a bit out of place, but I really want a healthy child. Everyone has a different opinion on this, and I don't want to go into that either. Thanks.

I do see the line at the top indeed.
Health issues of unborn children are super tricky topics where everyone should probably refrain from commenting and just leave their personal motto

When are you going to test again?
  12. Angiie #13

Hi! When do you get the results from the blood test?
  13. Bia started this #14

    Unfortunately, negative blood test results.
    Thanks for your answers.
