Pregnant after IUD

Hi ladies. I'll introduce myself quickly, I'm Robin, 22 years old, and I'd like to start trying for a baby with my 26-year-old boyfriend. Last Friday I had my IUD removed. From last Monday until yesterday I had light bleeding, absolutely not a lot, and since today nothing more… now I don't know if this was my period or bleeding from the IUD removal… My question is actually how quickly were you pregnant after having your IUD removed? I often think about whether it will never work out and that makes me extremely anxious, pff…

Greetings, Robin

    Hi girl,

I got pregnant again in the second round. I had it terminated in February and I'm now 6 weeks pregnant. Good luck, girl. Don't stress too much and go for it.

Yes, I've already done 3 ovulation tests, but I'm unsure about one of them... is this positive or not? I hope I get pregnant soon... What did you mean by the 2nd round again? How long did it take you?

That one seems darker to me. Just test it out.
I had bleeding in March, but I didn't count that month because it was my first period after I had my IUD removed. I had bleeding in April and was pregnant in May.

I'm so scared that it won't work out for us...
3 days after having the IUD removed, I had bleeding until yesterday... so from Monday until yesterday... so no idea now how to calculate my fertile period. It's making me feel unsure.

When should you normally get your period?

    20th/21st...

I’d wait for the first period and then track your cycle. That’s what I did too. Just had sex whenever we felt like it. Only after the first cycle did I start using ovulation tests to find my ovulation.

How many days after my period can I start doing ovulation tests? I have no patience left pff... and what if I don't get my period during that time. Should I then count the bleeding from last week? Or is this maybe the bleeding from removing the IUD?

It could be due to the removal. Otherwise, test from day 10 and see if it's increasing properly. Keep testing until it's very dark.

What do you mean from day 10? I wish I had a better understanding of it, but this is our first one.
  13. proud_mommy #14

So you count from the first day you bled, then add 10 days. From that day on, you should start testing. Sometime in the afternoon. Your urine shouldn't be too concentrated. You can test 2 hours after you've had a drink.

So you mean start with ovulation tests? Thanks so much for all your replies, you're helping me a lot... Can I ask how old you are? And is this little wonder your first?
  15. proud_mommy #16

Yes, your ovulation tests. You're welcome, girl. We're here to help each other. I hope it works out soon for you. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

I'm 25, this will be my second baby.

How long did it take you for the first miracle?
  17. proud_mommy #18

With my son, 18 months. 1.5 years
  18. Robintje Guest #19

That's really long, yeah... pity it often takes so long... that makes me really insecure always
  19. proud_mommy #20

That's not always the case. Try to think positively. If you're already stressed now, you'll have a tough time. If you stay positive now, it'll be easier.
