How to convince a hesitant partner?

Hi ladies!

Just sharing my thoughts here..

My boyfriend and I are absolutely crazy about each other and are 100% sure we want children together. We talk and dream about this almost every day since we started dating (we moved in together back then).

I’m really sure he’d be amazing at this, but he’s a chronic doubter... about everything! Not just about having kids.

I can see he’s really into it too, because it’s often him who starts the conversation! We’ve spent uuuuurs looking for baby names and checking out the genetics (we’ll probably have a kid with blue eyes ). And it was always his initiative.

We’ve even talked about adoption if it doesn’t work out or whatever..

Long story short, I think he just doesn’t dare to take the step (like he always does with everything in his life). He’s just so insecure and thinks he wouldn’t do it well

How can I help him get rid of his doubts? Or how can I give him a little push? Just getting pregnant isn’t an option for me (though I’m sure he’d be super happy once it happens).

Thanks in advance for the tips!

Sounds like you don't need to convince him anymore. Can't you just say that you want to stop using contraception? Take the initiative and wait for his response?
We talked a lot about having a second child too, and I asked him when he wanted to stop the pill. He answered right away, and we stopped. Just put it out there! Don't beat around the bush.
