Vaginal birth after a cesarean section

Hi ladies,

I have a question. My first baby was breech and born via C-section. Now I'm 32 weeks pregnant with my second and I'm really scared about the next birth because there's a chance I might be able to deliver vaginally this time.

Does anyone know the conditions for being allowed to have a vaginal birth? I've picked up some bits and pieces here and there, but I can't find any proper documentation.

For example, that you shouldn't go past your due date, that they shouldn't induce labor, that you always get an epidural, etc...

PS: I'm giving birth at UZ Leuven

They do let you go past your due date because natural contractions have less impact on your scar than induced ones. My first was born via emergency C-section and my second vaginally. I was 41 weeks then. Vaginal birth is always preferred over C-section, so there aren't really any conditions as long as your baby is in breech position. And an epidural isn't standard either; they just monitor your scar more closely, which is why you're considered medically high-risk and need to give birth in a hospital. Other than that, it's just like you never had a C-section.
