Start labor

My baby wasn't in a hurry, okay!! I had two days and two nights of contractions, and everyone told me: you'll recognize a real contraction!! Which made me dismiss this as false labor, while labor had actually already started! My mom had the same experience when she gave birth to me.

    I remember I was also looking for signs, but looking back, there really weren't any... Except that my midwife said it would definitely happen within so many days (which it did).
    The first one just started with contractions for me. She was here within seven hours.
    The second one started with my water breaking...

    I read that you might lose a few pounds in the days leading up to your delivery... But I'm not sure if that's true.

    With the oldest, it started with bleeding. And with my youngest, now 8 weeks old, it was with ruptured membranes. It really varies a lot from one birth to another how it all begins.
