Is abortion murder or not when you're 10 weeks pregnant?

    Yes, abortion is always murder.

Sending you lots of strength if things are tough.
  3. Wil Guest #4

thanks, I also think it's murder

I find this pretty short-sighted. Imagine being raped and then getting pregnant? Would you want to be reminded your whole life about the man who raped you and the rape itself? What if the child grows older and asks: Mom, who is my dad?

Then explain that his or her father is a rapist.

Or imagine the child has no chance of survival or your own health is at risk. Would you still go through with it?

That's right, Angiie. You do have a point there.

And of course, I'm against abortion too, really. But in cases like that, I would make an exception.

Yes, abortion is already a painful situation, and sometimes you really have no other choice.
  8. Tooby #9

I always think abortion is murder (doesn't matter how many weeks), but indeed in certain situations it's justifiable and understandable.

Hi Wil. Are you in a similar situation and asking whether abortion is murder?
  10. Wil Guest #11

Hi Orchidea, I'm indeed in a situation where I can't find my way out, hence the question. And the duration of the pregnancy makes it even harder.

Good that you're gathering information. If you want to share your story anonymously, that's possible, and we can help you where needed! It's important not to do this alone. Do you have someone in your circle you can trust and confide in?

I think a child has the right to be wanted. And if you really can't bring yourself to it... because of something that has happened... because of how your life was at that time... because of your health... Then you have the right to make a choice. I don't think a child benefits from growing up in an unwanted, complex situation.
Well... murder... you're ending the creation of life... you're intervening... and it's also possible that you'll never get pregnant again... I find it really hard. I've never been in such a situation myself, I've always dutifully taken the pill and no accident happened... I did my best to take care of that.
I don't think I should judge... I don't know your personal situation well enough... and it's not really possible to give advice either.
Wishing you lots of strength with this struggle.

In case the mother's life is actually at risk, abortion is allowed. Strength, hope you get help to keep the baby.

Every woman has the right to decide about her own body. I find it quite harsh to phrase it that way. There are plenty of unwanted children in this world. If, for one reason or another, you're not able to take care of your child—and that reason can vary for everyone—then this decision, no matter how difficult, might be better. What someone else thinks, well, they don't have to be the ones taking care of it.
  15. Tooby #16

Just to be clear, an abortion at 10 weeks is not murder. People might view it as such, but legally it isn't murder.
I wasn't entirely sure if you were stating an opinion or a fact, so I just wanted to mention it.
  16. Moedertjuh #17

Totally agree with Tooby. I also don't think the term "murder" applies here. Murder is always illegal. Abortion, like euthanasia, is not legally considered murder because it's legal.
  17. Wil Guest #18

Thank you, ladies. I was at the abortion clinic today and I've decided to keep the baby. Thanks so much for your support.
  18. Tooby #19

Glad you made the right choice, in my opinion. Wishing you lots of strength and good luck!

You've thought it through well, and then every choice is a good choice. Good luck!
