Hereditary early birth?

I’ve also read that they can do a blood test to see if your baby might be born too early. Maybe it’s worth looking into? I don’t have any other experience with premature births myself; I was born a few days past my due date.

I was also born prematurely (at 7 months) and had a brother who was born at 6 months. So I've always found it quite nerve-wracking.
I now have 2 kids and am expecting the 3rd, but all 3 of my children have "caught up" with me. Our daughter was born at 38 weeks and 5 days, our son at 38 weeks and 2 days, and we don't know yet what our youngest daughter will do. But last week I had a check-up with the OB/GYN (due to my blood pressure), and there were no signs that labor would start anytime soon.

I myself was born way too early (at 5 months and 3 weeks). So, is there a chance our baby might also be born that early? My partner was born 3 weeks early. Now that I'm reading this, I really hope it won't be like that for me—I can't even bear to think about it.

I checked with my midwife, and she told me there is indeed a chance your baby might come a bit earlier, but it's not exactly predictable. I'm now 33.5 weeks pregnant, and my baby has already dropped down. Still, according to the midwife, I don't need to worry too much about it.

I mentioned to her that I was born prematurely myself, and now they take that into account. So whenever I call with a 'concern' or 'suspicion', they'll take a closer look, which gives me a really reassuring feeling.

So there is a chance, but it's not certain enough to really stress about. Just listen closely to your own body and ask your midwife as many questions as you need!

I also hope my little one stays put until at least 37 weeks!

I was born at 6 months and 3 weeks, can't walk but otherwise perfectly healthy.
Now I'm wondering if this is hereditary.
Do I have a chance or not of having a disabled child?

I was born prematurely myself, initially 10 weeks early but ultimately 5 weeks early. My delivery was exactly on time. I also worried about it and discussed it with my OB-GYN. They monitored it extra closely, but it turned out that wasn't necessary.

I myself was also born too early because it runs in my family.
I know it's hereditary because it's in my family.
You don't need to worry about it. A month early isn't extremely premature.
I myself was born 11 weeks early and live a normal life.
Hopefully everything will go as it should, but 40 to 37 weeks is perfectly fine.

    Greetings, Lily

That can be tested, right? You can have it examined.
