Meave of Mave

meisje
We both think Maeve is a beautiful name, pronounced "Mev," but I'm really doubting the spelling.
I have my own name that I've spelled the same way my whole life
Our 2-year-old daughter is named Luna.
What do you think about the spelling? Other names are, of course, also welcome.

Meave and Mave are both absolutely not in.

    Maeve is the correct spelling.

I'd go for Meave. But I think it'll probably be pronounced as Maave.

Sorry, that's right.. I did see it in the topic. Unfortunately, I can't change it anymore.

I was thinking, it looks a bit odd like that.
Maybe a bit silly, but if you already make a mistake in the desired spelling, I expect others will also have trouble with the spelling...
I secretly think Maeve is quite nice too, but the pronunciation is a bit complex.

@me2 so that's exactly my dilemma.. we both like the pronunciation of the name. It's just the spelling that's hmm. And I haven't found anything else we like yet.

Maeve! People get used to it naturally. Everyone always puts their own spin on it. Even very "normal" names can be hard for some people to spell. If you think it's a nice name, I'd just go for it.
