Hi everyone,
I'm exactly 40 weeks pregnant today. For the past week, I've been experiencing severe menstrual-like pains and I also feel like I'm having contractions now and then.
I've also been dealing with excessive white, thin mucus for a while now.
I'd like to know if this could be the start of labor, because it's very exhausting since I'm experiencing it at night too and I'm not sleeping much.

Hey Roos,
It could just be the beginning, but it could also be false labor. It’s only really started when there’s a regular pattern. -

Braxton Hicks, indeed. If you're really struggling with them and can't sleep, you can ask your midwife or OB whether they'd be willing to do a manual stretch to give your back a little extra push. Good luck!! -

How are you doing now? Braxton Hicks, yes, very exhausting. She had them for 2 weeks before the second baby... looked like a ghost ;-) so little sleep...
But actually, you do notice right away when it turns into real contractions.
They are of course good for something, right... for the warm-up... I had 2 cm dilation from them and got stripped... A couple of hours later, it started...
But well, maybe you've already given birth by now?:-)
