How long does it take for Strippen to work?

Can be direct, but can also do absolutely nothing, so that always remains to be seen

They told me that anything that doesn't happen within 24 hours after stripping isn't caused by it.
I was 11 days overdue and believe me, I tried everything: walking, drinking castor oil, climbing stairs, cinnamon, etc. Nothing helped.
Then in the morning I was stripped, and in the evening my waters broke. Even this might not have been due to the stripping according to the midwife, but you never really know.
Is there a reason you get stripped so early? I was told this only works if you're already overdue; things need to be ripe down under. For us, it's only from 41 weeks onwards. Good luck with the final stretch.

No special reason for it. According to the OB-GYN, I was 'ready' for it. If it works out, that's super, and if not, well, it is what it is

Of course, if he suggests a date himself, you'll definitely stick to that And if it doesn't work out now, I'll naturally be a bit disappointed. Because now I've started counting down to another date

So intense, those last weeks. I thought it was so stupid that I was overdue, completely bored, I just wanted the baby! Now they're not coming after 37 weeks, so that's another 5 weeks of waiting!
Hopefully, the stripping leads to a delivery

    Thanks! I hope so too
Yeah, he said I probably won't reach my due date anyway (though I don't think they should say that, because then you focus on it too much. If I do go overdue, that time will feel twice as long).
So it'll be a pretty exciting 24 hours next Monday

Oh, definitely not on purpose! A friend of mine went into labor way too early and had to stay on bed rest until 37 weeks. In the end, she ended up going 2 weeks overdue. She also had her membranes stripped twice in the meantime, and each time the baby came out that very same night!
So she went from one disappointment to the next. Really frustrating!

That's right, it's better to base your expectations on 41 weeks—it's much nicer for yourself! And hey, who knows, you might secretly give birth before then. You always hold on to hope with every little pain or cramp, right?

Totally! Every little kick I feel now makes me go: could that be something? Or this? It's enough to drive you crazy!
And yeah, maybe I should just assume it's passing through. Then everything could be worse.

I was induced when my daughter was 5 days overdue. Around 1 PM, I think. And it did work, she was born around 10 PM.
