Start of pregnancy

Hi!!
I took a test today and I'm pregnant. But I have so many doubts. Like, am I really pregnant?
I also sometimes get period-like stomach pain that lasts about 20 seconds. Does anyone recognize this?
I just don't dare to be happy yet, I'm so afraid it'll go wrong. I'm now 4 weeks and 1 day pregnant, I should have gotten my period yesterday.
I wanted to post my test here but it didn't work, it's now on my profile.
I'd love to hear if other women also have doubts and/or period-like stomach pain.
Love, x Sneeuw

Uncertainties are probably always there until 12 weeks. I can't help you with the pain, I haven't had any myself.

You only know for sure if you're really pregnant after the first ultrasound.

When I was pregnant, I also had those cramps. That seems to be completely normal. All sorts of things are happening in your body!

I also struggled with those uncertainties. I wanted to see it first and then believe it! Unfortunately, it ended in a miscarriage for me. I'd say give yourself time to get used to the idea, girl =)

MamaV- yeah I think I'll only really believe it then!
Boeddha1990 - luckily there are several of us haha! I also had a positive test last month but the line got fainter each day and eventually disappeared completely. Something must have gone wrong I guess. I also had really bad stomach pain for one night. And stabbing pains on the lower right side of my belly that lasted for a week.
With this 'pregnancy' I've felt the stabbing pains but not nearly as bad as last month, and no severe stomach pain either, so that puts my mind at ease a little... I think..

    Thanks for your answers!

Congratulations! And those doubts are totally normal. Of course, things can always go wrong, but that could still happen in the next 8 months too. But yeah, you can only really believe it after the ultrasound. That's the most exciting part.

Hi, I have a question. I'm not overdue yet, but I'm having breast pain, especially when I sleep on my stomach or when I'm walking up the stairs, etc. Is this a sign of pregnancy? I've been very moody and emotional, but I was like that last month too, and I wasn't pregnant then. I had blood drawn last Friday, and it was negative, but I only just realized that I have a 40-day cycle and that Friday was the last day of my fertile window. Could I still be pregnant, or is that impossible?

    Best, Julie

    Hi everyone,
    Congratulations on the snow
After an early miscarriage last month, I'm pregnant again now at 5 weeks and 3 days! I have an appointment for the first ultrasound on January 26th.
I totally share your uncertainty.. it's a bit of a wait until the ultrasound, and I think things will feel more relaxed after 12 weeks.

Julieke: It could indeed be a sign, but it could also just be part of your cycle. I always had sore nipples a week before my period. I've always been quite emotional haha. I only found out 3 days ago that I'm pregnant. And I don't really feel anything at all. Just a bit of sensitive breasts, but I actually thought this month that I wouldn't be pregnant... You just have to wait until the day you can test. Did you have sex during your fertile week?

    Love xx

N.L. - thank you, congratulations to you too! I had an early miscarriage last month, coincidentally.. I am now 4 weeks and 6 days.
May I ask why you have an ultrasound so early? Or is that normal? I think I'll call the midwife this afternoon..

Lots of love and good luck xx

    Wow, what a coincidence @sneeuw!!!
I also had one early last month.. I'll be 7 weeks when I have an ultrasound.
I asked this because of my insecurity. Every practice is different, of course...
How old are you, sweet? I'm almost 23 and generally also insecure.

Sweet = snow something quickly typed

I also tested light positive today and I also have occasional menstrual-like cramps. I'll do a Clear Blue tomorrow, if that's also positive I'll call the midwife

Nice @muze38! I'm curious about the Clear Blue test

Good afternoon everyone, and congratulations to all the mamas! I'm Shana, 30 years old, and unexpectedly pregnant with my third.. All from the same father.. My relationship has been struggling lately, and when I told him that despite taking the morning-after pill I was pregnant again, he pushed for an abortion.. Apparently a third child was too much for him. While half a year ago he was still lovingly joking about having a third..
Despite the ups and downs of a relationship, I never expected him not to support me, and I was actually expecting joy.. Unplanned, but for me always welcome.. a little miracle we created together.. And the fact that he's so cold about it changes our whole relationship for me. I don't recognize my love for him anymore.. it feels so unreal. Is this the man I saw myself marrying after almost 10 years of relationship..? The one who calmly decided I should have an abortion? Instead of the expected 'Yay, we're adding another little miracle!!'
So to make a long story short, here I am.. Just pregnant, nauseous, and very busy caring for 2 little ones, with a third on the way.. I'm going to do it all alone! I hope to feel a bit less alone by sharing my story with you all, and I also hope to enjoy your pregnancy experiences!
  16. Moedertjuh #17

Wow, that's intense, Shana! But I totally get your reaction. Of course, he shouldn't be happy about it at first. You naturally expected a certain reaction beforehand, which is logical, but it's his feeling. Still, I think he shouldn't have been so casual about an abortion. Come on. Two kids or three. It doesn't really matter that much. I was also alone with two kids when the youngest was 5 months old. The oldest was 3. They're 11 and 14 now... it was tough but not impossible. I wish you lots of strength and success with this pregnancy.

I have an intake on Feb 8th! I called this morning, I'm 20 years old and have been with my boyfriend for 4 years. We recently got a little house and we really wanted our own baby. We always watch other people's kids a lot, so it's time for our own haha!

I also tested light positive yesterday, and with an extra early test.. Yesterday morning I did a Clear Blue and a Kruidvat test, both positive! Good luck and hope for a positive Clear Blue test!

What a nasty story! And what a dumb answer from your boyfriend, seriously! I understand your feelings! I think it's ridiculous that he reacts like that, you couldn't have known either..?? Maybe he's in shock.. I hope he comes to his senses soon! Keep your chin up and go for it, I can't say more! I'm sure everything will work out for you, and I hope your boyfriend comes to his senses soon!!
    Xx
