It's a little device with electrodes that you stick on your back or belly. You control it yourself with a button during contractions. It has no negative effects on the baby.

I can rent it through my midwife, which is why I'm asking. You can read more on the website, but I'd love to hear experiences from other women.

It seems to be very comfortable, and it doesn't get on your little one either, which is also very nice. Many health insurers cover the purchase of the birth cushion (sometimes up to 100%).

    @ Olivia-Anna,
Couldn't you find more info on the birth tens website?

I think I'll order it. I believe it's covered by ZilverKruis, and it can still be used for back pain etc. after your pregnancy.

Oh, I'm always so skeptical about Olivia too, really (maybe a bit to the point of being over the top :-P). I don't have a very high pain tolerance, but I'd rather not order anything like that... I've survived it twice... and it wasn't a walk in the park... so I'll definitely survive this time too without all sorts of painkillers... I'm always so afraid that it's not good or could be harmful or whatever... maybe I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to meds/pain relief or something like that ;-) Unless there's really no other way... I'd rather not.

Hi, I'm nesting too because of my severe back pain, so even if I don't use it for the birth, I'll still have something to enjoy afterward.
