Getting pregnant

Hi everyone,
I'd like to start a new topic for those of us who are also trying to conceive.
My partner and I are trying for our first baby together (I already have 2 kids from a previous relationship).
We just finished our 2nd cycle (both cycles lasted 36 days). Unfortunately, I got my period today, but we'll be starting again soon.
I think it would be nice to connect with others who are in this exciting time.

    Hey Esther,
    We're also trying to conceive our first baby.
    I've been off the pill for about 2.5 weeks now, so it'll still take a little while for me.
    I don't know my cycle yet. I was on the pill for about 10 years.
    So for me, it's round 1
    I'm really curious and also enjoy connecting with others who want to become pregnant.

    I just got my period unfortunately, so I’ll be on for round 3 soon.

    Hi ladies,

    My partner and I are trying to get pregnant too. I stopped the pill after about 15 years in mid-August and got my period for the first time 6 days "late." According to an app, I ovulated 8 days ago. Since yesterday/today I've been losing a bit of dark blood. When I Google this, I come across various things. Any experience with this?

    Yesss AngelaJJ, I totally relate, it can't go fast enough! I'm also constantly thinking about it... I hope to be able to let go a bit, but I really want it. It seems like I see pregnant women everywhere, or women with babies, or those ads on TV... searching the internet for cute baby stuff isn't exactly smart either: on FB, baby ads for clothes, strollers... keep popping up... grrr, so frustrating...

    M, no, I don't relate to that... It doesn't seem like implantation bleeding to me either, fat says it should be light pink then (a bit when wiping). But I have no experience with that either.. Maybe a very early period? But you said it's not much... Otherwise, ask your GP for advice. Your body might also need to get used to all the changes (coil, pill...)

    @Esje, yes indeed! Exactly that! It also seems like everyone around me is getting pregnant. 2 of my friends are due in January..
    I want to too, hahha.

    @M, no, I don't relate to this either, I think it's indeed your body still shedding the extra weight. My body is also a bit out of shape because of that.

    Hey ladies,
    I'd like to chime in a bit too
    We stopped taking the pill in October 2016... I've had a lot of side effects from it over the past year.. oily hair, breakouts everywhere, mood swings, very emotional.. you name it, I've experienced it.
    It's really frustrating when you want something and it just doesn't work out.

    I wonder if your body really needs to detox... I really hope this round (round 3) will be the one!

    Stff, you must be so excited now, after trying for a year! That would be such a nice outlook for the new year. Are you noticing more stability now, and fewer late side effects?

    Ahhh Angela, that mixed feeling must be tough: you're happy for your friends but you want it so much yourself... How long have you been trying?

    I’ve been getting my period very regularly since I stopped, but all those side effects have been there for a year now The pimples have become a bit less though...
    Now I’m really waiting, at the end of next week it’s my period day again... I’ve been nauseous for a week and have very sensitive, painful nipples & itchy, ugh... My breasts are sensitive during my period too, so I don’t know what to expect...
    I’d love to put something special under the Christmas tree, our biggest wish...

    We're just at round 1 so I think it'll still take a while..
    Stopping the pill is awful. Stomach ache, headache, feeling nauseous.
    The only good thing about it is that my libido is insanely high right now. Yesterday we had sex 3 times xD my boyfriend doesn't mind at all.

    Angela, that's so relatable! How often did you guys do it when you were on the pill? Three times in one day is quite a lot, hehe!

    We used to do it, on average, once a day before I stopped the pill.
    We've always had a good sex drive and still can't stay away from each other..
    I have to admit we're a bit addicted to each other xD hahha.
    But now that I've stopped the pill, it's even worse.. plus I think I'm in my fertile period now. (I don't use ovulation tests yet, so it's just a feeling.). Now the average is 2 times a day...

    Now I know it's better to do it every other day, because of the quality of the sperm, but that's not really working out for us right now xD

    Hihi your man is lucky to have you, Angela! But FYI: for sperm quality, it's better to go every other day. But enjoy each other, even if it's 3 times a day!! A pregnancy will definitely happen at least once, I think, haha!

    But wow: my libido has also increased enormously after stopping the pill... how weird is that?!?! I definitely had those symptoms at the beginning, but luckily they're much less now!!!

    Geez, where do you find the time to have sex twice a day? And Esje, how often did you do it back then and how often do you do it now? Before we had our little one and I was on the pill, we did it 1-2 times a week. I thought that was enough, but ML wanted to do it more often, so I’d just help him out After stopping the pill, we did it every other day and daily during my fertile week! Now with our little girl, we do it 2-3 times a week. But what a difference with and without the pill, huh?! You have no idea what a mess that is actually! Besides having more desire, it also gets wetter down there faster (and more so). Did you notice that with that rotten pill too?

    Fortunately, we now want a second child, so no need for contraception anymore. But the pill is annoying, and we didn’t really like condoms... so maybe an IUD later? First, let’s get pregnant (and for me, get period-free again). You guys too!!! Big hug!

    Yeah indeed, that pill is really rubbish..
    Where do I get the time from?
    My boyfriend is a truck driver and works around 70/80 hours a week. I work 30 hours. So when he's home and we're in the mood, we do it. Even on the couch or in the shower. Usually also once more right before we go to sleep.
    You have to make time, I always say. And we do that gladly xD hahaha.
    The only downside is that we both often lack sleep because of it xD hahaha

    The pill is indeed rubbish, condoms are even worse, but what else?
    We'd like to have two kids and after that I'd also like to get an IUD. Better than all that other crap.
    I'm crossing my fingers that we all get pregnant soon.

    Do you also always stick to the handy tips like coming, lifting your legs up, etc.? And do you only have sex or is there foreplay too?

    By the way, I read that foreplay isn't always good when you want to get pregnant!

    Yeah, he always comes inside me, and those legs too, always.
    Usually it's predictable, but since I stopped the pill, it's not always necessary anymore...

    Yeah, the pill is really crap. My boyfriend and I do it most days. With my previous partner I had much less desire haha, but that's probably because I find my current boyfriend much more attractive (muscular, good at seducing hahaha).

    We usually do it in bed before we go to sleep, depending on how aroused we are whether we have foreplay or not. But he always finishes inside me, but always makes sure I come first. Hihi sweet right! But when we're alone on the weekend, if my kisses from my ex are still around, we also often do it on the couch, usually once every day or twice a day.

    The IUD would be something for me. Heard too many negative stories about it. I'll probably go back to the pill haha for now though not yet!!!

    Oh hihi and Meral: I'm definitely wetter than with the pill. Hihi but I think that's only good!!!
