Here’s someone who’s older too.
I’m now 8 weeks pregnant with our first baby.
When our baby is born, I’ll be 40. -

I'm also an older mom, 41 years old and 14 weeks pregnant. We already have two daughters, aged 8.5 and 6. We did the combined test and the results were good, so we're not going to do any further tests. -

Mirjam,
Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I'd say enjoy every moment, because it goes by so fast!
I'm now 39 and our little girl is already almost 6 months old, a real treasure who gets all the attention. Our son is already 15 years old.
You should cherish every moment, especially when you know it's your last pregnancy.
Greetings,

Hi Anne,
I'm also 39, our son was born on September 15th, and our youngest little girl is turning 6 months old this week.
What a huge difference from 15 years ago!
I'd recommend becoming a mom at a later age to everyone; it's such a blessing, I think.
Best,
Ann -

Hi Mirjam,
Congratulations on the arrival of your little one!
It's great that the combined screening test was clear—that's such a relief, I know from experience.
I was 37 too when I got pregnant with our youngest.
I'm now 39, and our little Vera will already be turning 1 next Thursday. Our eldest daughter and son are now 11 and 9, and they're absolutely crazy about Vera. I can tell you that it's a wonderful experience for your other children too.
Enjoy it!
Best,
Gerda -

Hi everyone,
I'm 43 and just found out I'm 5.5 weeks pregnant again!!!
We already have 5 other kids aged 23, 21, 18, 8, and 7... I can't say much yet about how this little one will go, but with our youngest two, I noticed everything went pretty smoothly despite the age gap being quite big.
I also noticed I was more patient than with the first batch
In my opinion, the kids don't really notice that we're older.
It's all about how you face life, I think, so just let it all wash over you and enjoy it!! -

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I'm also almost 42, next month, and currently 24 weeks pregnant. I'd say enjoy it, and your youngest kids will get to experience it very consciously too. That's pretty special, isn't it? My daughters, aged 8 and 5, are thrilled to have a brother or sister on the way. -

How are the older moms among us doing? Things are going pretty well here, and I'm now almost 31 weeks pregnant. Last week I had a growth scan because at the 20-week scan the little one was a bit below average in growth, but nothing to worry about. Now the little one is nicely on average, but the abdominal circumference was on the lower end of average, so another scan in 3 weeks. They want to keep a close eye on it. I also have to take mandatory rest every afternoon now, to give the growth a little boost.
The baby's room is ready now, so I can finally give the clothes a proper place. I also need to buy some things like hydrophilic diapers. Nice things ahead! -

Here’s another older mom. I just turned 40 and am 8 months pregnant with my second. My oldest is 9 years old. My body is reacting hormonally like an 18 (!) year old, according to the OB-GYN...
I’m approaching this pregnancy much more consciously now and enjoying it more.
Is it harder? Well, yes... but that’s because I already have a kid, a busy household, a dog, and my partner has 2 kids from his previous relationship.
Besides, nobody guesses I’m 40 based on my appearance. Never smoked, drank little, always exercised a lot, so I’m in good physical shape.
I feel like a much hipper mom than some moms under 30, not just in appearance but especially in how I approach life.
The fact is, I wouldn’t have chosen to have kids earlier. I met my partner much later.
Kids keep you young, and I really don’t care what others think. When I was 30 and pregnant with my first, I lived in Amsterdam and was the youngest (!) at prenatal yoga. Now I live in a village, and things are different.
So it also depends on where you live. -

I'm also 39 and trying for a third baby. I had my IUD removed in September and got pregnant right away, but unfortunately, it ended in a miscarriage on New Year's Eve. My due date is now May 4th. I already have a daughter who's 13 and another who's 9

Just a quick update. I gave birth to a little girl on May 9th, her name is Nina. Everything is going well and we're enjoying it all. Our eldest daughter thinks it's great too, having a little sister. -

Speaking of older moms, hihihi. I have 3 kids, 15, 10, 5.
In March, I gave birth to my daughter Madelief at 21 weeks with Trisomy 18. I am 43 and will be 44 in September. The two oldest are from a previous marriage, and we really, really want another little one. We are pregnant again, 7 to 8 weeks. I went to the midwife and had an internal ultrasound. Three gestational sacs were visible, with one heartbeat. So we'll just have to wait and see.
And I won't let the outside world tell me what's right or wrong. My husband supports me. If you have wishes, you can fulfill them, right? Why not? People are also 10 years older than they used to be.
So if you're 39 and pregnant, good luck. -
