I was also pregnant with twins, due date Feb 1, 2018. That was found out at the 8-week scan. Unfortunately, one of the heartbeats stopped the following week. The other baby is doing well so far. I'm now almost 12 weeks pregnant. I found it very special and would have loved it so much. Having twins was always a wish of mine. But now I'm focusing on the little one who is alive, which I'm of course very happy about. But it will always sting that there won't be twins. -

Hi Rosanna. Same here for me, pregnant with twins, but one didn't make it. Because we were initially told that both gestational sacs were empty and they couldn't find a heartbeat (what a huge mistake, right!), we were mostly just so happy that a week later there was one that was doing really well! I'm now 8 weeks and 4 days and still find it very suspenseful. As long as the other one keeps growing well!
They expect the one that didn't make it to become a 'vanishing twin'. How is it going for you?
It's in my family and I'm still breastfeeding, which apparently also increases the chance of twins. I always had a feeling that I'd have twins someday, so I'm also quite sad that it turned out this way. They think it was a dizygotic twin pregnancy because there was a thick wall between the two gestational sacs. -

And congratulations to Flamingo, of course! -

Hi Linda, late reply from me since I don't check as often. It seems like you really have to be on the forum all day, every day, to feel like you belong, because hardly anyone else says anything to you—that's my experience on forums like the January 2018 mamas and so on. And since I don't have that much time for it, I've kind of stopped checking in here.
But yeah, I was really disappointed that the twins didn't make it as twins. I always wanted twins and used to joke with my husband before the first scan that it would be twins. I had that gut feeling too. At the first scan, they were both alive and I was over the moon! So at the second scan, I was very sad when one didn't make it.
You're at little to no risk because it was a dichorionic twin pregnancy with a thick dividing membrane. I had that too. The one that isn't doing well will just shrink and disappear. It won't come out. Because of that, the other one just stays put and is completely independent.
That's pretty amazing that it turned out later that one of yours actually made it too! I really hoped it would turn out that the other one was still alive with me. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. But now that one has its place with me, and the other child is doing super well, which makes me really happy! -

Doesn't matter, I don't check every day either.
I can imagine that the blow is much harder when you've first seen two beating hearts and then only one... Is this your first baby?
Even though the chance of a miscarriage isn't higher for the other one, I do feel more uncertain. Luckily, I have another ultrasound this afternoon!
Do you get extra ultrasounds in the first trimester or not? -

No, I already have a little girl who's almost two. My husband thought that was actually enough, but he eventually agreed. So I was even happier that it was twins, because then we'd be a family of three kids. He really only wants a maximum of two, though. So unfortunately, the chance of having a third child in the future is pretty much zero. But after the initial shock, he was happy about the twins, though!
I requested extra ultrasounds in the beginning. Now that I've passed the 13-week mark and see that the other baby is doing well, my anxiety is thankfully gone. So just ask for extra ultrasounds if you're feeling unsure! -

Hi everyone,
I'm pregnant with twins and currently 10 weeks along. This is my first pregnancy, and it's really exciting. We've already had 4 ultrasounds, and everything looks promising.
Still, it's quite nerve-wracking..
Since Sunday, I've been experiencing discomfort in my lower abdomen and back. Does anyone else here have similar symptoms? The midwife thinks it might be round ligament pain? But isn't that a bit early? -

We unfortunately got the news today that our baby no longer has a heartbeat. It stopped growing at 9 weeks. However, a third, empty gestational sac was found, which had been behind the others. It's bizarre to think that I was pregnant with triplets.
The grief is huge, but we won't give up!
I wish you all a beautiful pregnancy! -

Hi ladies. I'm now 5.5 weeks pregnant. This was through IUI. I had 2 large eggs and 1 egg that was kind of hanging around. I hope to be pregnant with twins! Do you remember the hCG hormone values when you were between 4 and 5 weeks?? Mine are higher than average, actually. -

I'm 35 weeks pregnant with twins, two boys, and actually everything has been going really well since day 1. Hospital check-ups have always been great, but it's really tough now.
