    Hey there,
I’m so sorry for what you’re going through... your story sounds so familiar to me. I got the exact same news exactly two weeks ago. We also waited to make sure the baby wasn’t growing anymore and that there wasn’t going to be a heartbeat after all. We didn’t see this coming either, and emotionally it’s been really tough. Our baby has now been gone for 4 weeks.

I’d recommend thinking ahead about what you want if the miscarriage doesn’t start on its own. I had already waited more than a week to see if anything would happen naturally before seeing the gynecologist. At that point, I wanted it removed as quickly as possible (I really don’t want induction with medication because of the severe cramps it can cause and the fact that there’s at least a 25% chance it won’t work well enough, leaving a D&C necessary). But even a D&C isn’t something you can just do within a few days... I had to wait another 1.5 weeks for mine, which is coming up this Wednesday. I hope I’ll feel like I can close this chapter then and move forward.

P.S. I’m not saying this to scare you, but to help you prepare for what might come next. That way, you can clearly communicate what you do and don’t want right away, instead of wasting time like many others do.

Wishing you lots of strength, my friend!

    Hi ladies,

Sorry for the late reply. So much has happened this year regarding pregnancy. My earlier posts here didn't end well; I had a D&C. I wanted to get it over with right away. Call me crazy, but I was already so sad.
Wishing you all lots of strength, I know what you're going through. I've experienced it 3 times now

    Xx

I can't send you a private message because you're logged in as a guest. We were supposed to have another ultrasound on Monday, but I called and can come on Thursday evening. I still want an internal ultrasound, which they didn't do, actually. I want to see if it looks bad, as I expect... I'd like to schedule a D&C for sure. It's all pretty intense, isn't it... I wish you strength too!

Totally get it, you know.. I want to get out of this as soon as possible too.. especially since I'm just experiencing symptoms of the pregnancy I currently have for no reason..

Exactly the same symptoms here... If everything is okay, you'd gladly put up with all the pregnancy symptoms. But if something's wrong, it's so incredibly confronting and feels like it's all for nothing. Really tough.

If you want to get help as soon as possible, I'd recommend asking your midwife to book an appointment with an OB-GYN right away. It can take a few days to get that appointment. The OB-GYN will always do an internal ultrasound to check (they never just rely on the midwife's findings; they need to confirm themselves that there's no beating heart). So there's 100% certainty.

If you'd like to send me a private message, you can find me under Mom2Be (I posted as guest C. earlier).

It's getting really intense for me now. Tomorrow at 9:30 I'm admitted for a D&C. It's very definitive, but I feel like I can only close off this really awful and emotional period and look forward when it's out of my body.

    Hi ladies,
I went to the midwife yesterday, alone, and she did see the gestational sac but nothing else. According to my last period, I should be about 7 weeks pregnant now? Is this normal?

    I went through this myself...
In April I had my last period, tested positive in early May (should have been 6 weeks then according to calculation).
On May 21 I had my first ultrasound (due to cramps and bleeding). Unfortunately, nothing was visible on this ultrasound, only a lot of lining. I was sent home and had to come back in 2 weeks for another scan.
I did tests during those 2 weeks, but they all remained just positive On June 4 (should have been 8 weeks then) I had another ultrasound, where a gestational sac with a fetus was visible but no heartbeat yet (fetus measured at +-5w4d).
The following week on June 11 I had to come back again to see how things were going. No heartbeat was visible here and unfortunately no growth of the fetus either..
Referred to the OB-GYN.. 1.5 weeks later they looked again and saw a heartbeat here, but extremely weak and a fetus that would now be +-6w..
3 days later I started bleeding and had a miscarriage..
