Hi ladies,

We have a cat at home and she’s always really independent. She doesn’t like strangers at all and while she’ll come to us for cuddles, she’ll never quickly jump into your lap. But now that I’m pregnant, she won’t leave my side? As soon as I sit down, she jumps onto my lap, and wherever I go, she follows. Does anyone have experience with this? Do animals sense it?

Our cat did the same thing.

I really think they can sense it.

They really do feel it. My cat wasn't going to let me "hit" him away either. I don't even have to turn around before he's already standing in front of me.
Same thing with my last pregnancy. My cat knew before I did. Haha. Quite handy.

Here's the cat too, who always wanted to sit with me. I haven't noticed any difference with the tomcat, who sticks to me anyway. But with a pregnant belly and two cats on my lap, half over my belly, it was quite busy, especially since they're not little ones. Now that the little one is here, the tomcat still wants to be around, whether I have the baby on my lap or not. He doesn't care at all It's quite cozy like this. The female cat is lying next to me now. She likes the little one, but from a distance; she finds those uncontrolled movements quite difficult.

Funny! So it didn't sink in after all
