outings in the last month before giving birth

Hi! I'm wondering if anyone else still goes out on outings, etc., as they approach 8 months? I'm inclined to just draw a thick line through my calendar for the last month before the birth.

Imagine being a visitor at someone's house or being out for the day... and having to sit on a train for an hour or so beforehand. Well, what if the contractions start or your water breaks then? How do you get to the hospital where you want to give birth in time? My due date is January 7th, which means the entire holiday period is my 'time bomb' phase. We don't have a car ourselves, so I'd rather just be at home by the time my labor starts, so I know which taxi to call, you know what I mean... (Imagine being at your mother-in-law's and having to drive with her to the hospital... I definitely don't want that!)

No, I still do a lot but not far from home. I think I have the same as you :-)

I didn't do much more in the last month either, I also noticed that I really didn't have the desire for it anymore. I've heard that this is because your body is preparing for labor and wants to do it in peace. So I stayed comfortably at home in my little cocoon (preferably with the curtains closed even under a blanket), but I was also due in winter. Just keep doing what makes you feel good.

I went shopping all day in Eindhoven the day before I was supposed to give birth. The next day I went grocery shopping in Antwerp. In the afternoon I was at my dad's campsite, and at night I gave birth, haha. Our little boy was here in 2.5 hours. And the OB kept saying he wouldn't come out easily. I thought it went pretty fast anyway

I'm 39 weeks pregnant. I've been going out until last week, even more than an hour's drive. But this week, I'm not going any further than half an hour's drive because his head is very low according to the gynecologist.

I'm currently 7 months along and won't be driving any further than 40 minutes to the hospital.

I wouldn't go overboard doing it all on my own..
But sitting at home all day isn't really my thing either..
Especially if you're a bit anxious about the birth, I think it's actually better to keep busy!
By the way, most people are still in the hospital for many hours, so that extra hour to get there doesn't really matter much anyway..

My mother-in-law "is" the thick black line in my agenda, and for a very long time!! Hahaha!!

We're going to spend another whole weekend at Center Parcs in Peer next weekend. Just as a finale with our friends, the last time without our baby... but I have to be honest, I'm out of commission for January 14th, and our girl is already a month ahead of schedule, so I'll be doing everything at home during the holiday period... only Christmas will be at my sister-in-law's, but that's only 20 minutes from our hospital... but New Year's will be here with us, among friends, and we'll just make it a quiet evening..
And if we do have to go, well, the celebration will be in the hospital, haha...
In the end, I think most people will start taking it easier
