First ultrasound - blood in the uterus and too small gestational sac - HELP!
Hi,
Last Monday we had our first ultrasound. We went there so happy and curious, since it would be the first time we'd see our little miracle! Unfortunately, this happiness didn't last long. I quickly noticed that you didn't see anything right away and that the gynecologist remained carefully silent.
The first thing he said was that there was quite a bit of blood in my uterus. After searching a lot, he found the gestational sac which was only 4 mm in size. This is way too small for 6.5 weeks of pregnancy.
From that moment on, I completely shut down, didn't say a word, and everything went by like a blur.
We have to come back in a week and a half to see how the gestational sac looks then. It could still be okay, but it's also possible that a miscarriage is forming.
Since the gestational sac was about 2 weeks "behind" and the gynecologist didn't seem very positive, we fear the worst.
It just won't sink in that after 2 years of fighting and going hospital in and out, we finally managed to get pregnant, and then it might go wrong so soon.
I'm also not really brave enough to go to the ultrasound next week, afraid of hearing that it really is wrong.
Is there anyone who had this too, but where it turned out okay in the end?
Best, Tamara
