Given birth in the bath

Who has experience with giving birth in a bath? And was this in the hospital, at home in a bath, or a specially rented bath? I'm curious about your experiences because I'd really like to have a water birth myself.

Having a water birth was a lifesaver for me. I could handle the contractions much better.
I gave birth in the hospital, and everything was just ready there. The midwife asked if I wanted to get in the bath for a bit, and then she prepared the bath for me.

I did have a bath during contractions, but I didn't give birth in it. I hear lots of good stories about it, both for mom and baby. Still, it's always a wait-and-see whether you find it comfortable at that moment. Maybe you'd feel much more comfortable sitting on a birthing stool or lying in bed. It's good to have a plan, but don't be afraid to deviate from it; that gives you much more peace of mind once it's time .

I had a bath for pain relief during my first birth, and it was lovely. Unfortunately, it was just a regular bathtub, so it wasn't possible to give birth in it.

With my second child, I was able to give birth at home and wanted to labor in the bath for relaxation. My midwife said that if I wanted, I could stay in the bath for the birth too. I didn't want that myself, but it was possible. We did have a large bathtub where she could fit well. If you're considering it, I'd ask your midwife whether it might also be possible in your own bath.

I really wanted it, it seemed very important to me, but unfortunately, they didn't do that at the midwife's practice where I went.

Oh sorry, wrote that too fast. I meant it seemed very relaxing to me.
I'm typing and at the same time helping my youngest daughter with her game on the tablet, hence the delay.
    Greetings, Madelene
